My Biography

Where to start (I guess at the beginning) I was born on March 21st 1974 in Salt Lake. I was the 4th out of 5 boys and 1 girl. (I have a younger sister and a younger brother). We lived in Salt Lake till I was 2 then moved to West Jordan where I spent the remainder of my Youth and teenage years Until I went to college.

When I was born I had a birth defect known as a "Funnel Chest" it's where the sternum sinks in towards the heart and lungs. As you get older this sinking can increase. My Oldest brother had the same defect. My parents in their wisdom noticed this and sent out on a search to help thier children. My brother was a "test baby" so to speak they did his surgeory when he was 6 months old. They soon learned that it was a mistake to do the operation while the paitient is that young. So we waited till I was 5yrs old to have the operation done(then I became a guinea pig). Because of the scar it left I've been considered an honerary member of the zipper club (open heart surgeory patients). As I didn't have my heart operated on. Just my chest.

Being an active child living in the suburbs of suburbs (believe me West Jordan used to be BFE). When I was 4 I was out playing with my brother and one of the kids from across the street. We were tooling around in a red wagon.(you have to have one of those). We were at the neighbors house who had an inclined drive way. We would pull the wagon up the hill.. get in.. and ride back down. Well I was in the wagon and it had been pulled to the top of the hill. My brother and the kid that I was playing with left to go in side. I, still sitting in the wagon, started to roll backwards down hill. When I hit the bottom There was this big rock at the entrance of the drive way. I ended up getting caught between the wagon and this rock and broke my leg. I tried to get up but couldn't. I remember trying to pull myself across the road. I was trying to go to my house and I remeber a car comming around the corner and honking at me while I was in the road. From there I've been told that my mom ran out instantly knowing something was wrong picked me up, put me in the car and went striaght to primary childrens hospital. I had a Spiral Fracture of the Femur. I've been told I was in traction for a while then realesed with a full cast on one leg and a half on the other with this stick in the middle.(don't ask me.. I just have a picture of it). My mother said that one day when she came to visit me she could hear me crying. She went into my room and found me hanging by my leg in traction. I had some how came off the bed. She said she went out to the nurses station and chewed them out. She said she asked do they always ignore the children? any how, I found out about 8 years ago that my parents were investigaged for child abuse from that. Wich of course didn't happen. I also have found out that because of my accident; I did have slight damage to one of my growth plates. Therefore I have a really really small difference in length of my legs.

I'm going to skip a ton of years but thats because, they aren't really all that intersting. When I was 14 I got my first job. I worked as a janitor in our Public Education Facilitys (ok I worked at a middle school) any how. I've been earning my keep ever since. When I turned 16 I bought my own car (boy was that a joke) and it sat for 2 years after that. At my 16th birtday party I invited all the friends I had and went to the "Galaria" (I think that's how it was spelled aka Fun Dome). Any how We had a pizza party.. I ended up with cake in my hair.. It was a blast. Of course you can't go there and not go Roller Skating. So part of my party was roller skating. Within the first 15 minutes I and a friend were racing as fast as we could. The next thing I know we locked skates and I lost it. I fell and Broke my wrist. (yet another page ... right?). Any how, I turned 16 and didn't get to drive for about 4 months after that.(WHAT A BUMMER!)

When I was 17 I worked for Hardee's (ok So I wasn't a janitor any more)I was a cook. Beleive me, it isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Any how, whilst I was slaving away one day (February 2, 1991 to be exact) I was changing the fry oil in the vats. It splashed.. and got all over my left arm (I swear part of it had to do with a week wrist from breaking it a year before.) I ended up with 3rd degree burns on my bicept and first and second on my fore arm. I had to have a skin graft done on my bicept and well spent 3 weeks in physical therapy and 1 year wearing those weird burn things.(called a jobst)I was even accused of trying to make a fashion statement with those.

I went to Snow College in 92.(originally shooting for a scholarship but that didn't happen)I was majoring in Business management Minoring in Computer sciences and Music. I continued my Education until 94 when I failed spanish(miserably mind you) and lost my pell grant. I then returned home and returned to a full time job (mind you I worked part time while I was at school).

After returning from school I worked as a Kelly Temporary. While I was doing that. I relized one day that I couldn't hear as well out of my right ear as my left. I went in to the doctor and they told me that I had some "wax" built up in my ear. They said that they would rinse it out. When they did that it hurt like you would not belive.. so they sent me to a specialist. The specialist vacumed out the "wax" and come to find out it was a piece of cotton. Now for a quick background (which I neglected to include earlier) I've had tubes 5 times as I was growing up. so I've had problems with my hearing and my ears for a long time. I go swimming, I would get an ear infection. I went swimming whilst I was in college and had the same problems. So I believe that's where the cotton came from. but I digress, after he vacumed out the cotton he said "How long have you had this hole in your eardrum?" I told him I had no clue. So I was scheduled for surgeory to have the hole repaired. After the surgeory I was informed that one of my bones in my middle ear..(yes there are bones there) had deteriorated. So I had this Plastic prostheis put in to replace that bone. I was mad, I was sick for 3 days and it took me 2 weeks to really get back in to balance.

back to the job situation, I decided being a temporary I couldn't handle not knowing when they were going to tell me to go home. I acquired a job as a Floral Delivery driver (that was fun let me tell you) and decided I didn't like part time. So I changed jobs agian. I became a Parts Delivery Driver for my current employer.

In that Posisiton I felt overqualified, and under paid. So I set out looking for another job (gald I dind't get it). After 2 1/2 years of having to fight with people and having my fits of wanting to up and quit. The powers that be, called me in and said that they had a position open for me to look at. After about a month of tests and training I became a full fledged computer systems IDIOT.. heheh. I've worked hard since then and learned many things. I'm now able to do my job with people calling me "genius"(no I'm lot letting it go to my head). I just put up a good front I think.

I did loose my hearing again. I've had problems in that, I've never been able to keep a air pressure balance in my middle ear. you could find me walking around tryin' to pop my ears .. at times. I went back in to the specialist. He tried to blame it on allergies. I've never had allergies in my life. But this last time I couldnt' get it to pop again. I went in the Doc said "Theres a piece of wax on your ear drum)" I'm thinkin' not that story again. He took me in.. tried to vacume it off.. it didn't come off.. and it hurt like heack. so he grabbed out some tweasers and started to tug.. after a second he said "I think it's a tube.. no no.. it's a piece of plastic" the plastic thing I had put in 5 years earlier, had worked it's way out. I then had a hole in my eardrum again and no plastic thing. So I had become hard of hearing and I was scheduled for surgeory to have the piece of plastic replaced. I didn't realize how much it helped me hear. Now I know. Well I had the surgoery and they didn't put the plastic thing back. From what I'm told they used some of the bones from my ear and re-constructed my middle ear. The sad thing is, I'm the only person who has no clue how they did it and I'm the one who had it done. Guess I'll find out on my follow up visit.I missed my follow up visit, so I re-scheduled it. I want to take care of this, I had to spend 800$ to get it fixed.. I'm not about to just let it go.

Believe me I've left out a lot of intermitant details. I just thought the major events would suffice. While writing this though I have realize. I'm A CLUTZ.. oh well. I have a really strong character. I do have to say this I have left out a Major event but I feel that it's not something to publicise or bragg about. If you feel that you NEED to know this ask me some time.. and I'll talk your ear off till your blue.
