Today's thoughts...yes, I think at times. :P~~~~
Remember I told you that the 18 acres next door is for sale? Well, there is 11 acres across the road that went up for sale, I guess yesterday? I know what the current owner paid for it just last year...there is a deal to be had here if he is strapped for cash. Yep...he was really impressed when Travis did one of those boy things real close to his shoe last summer...that's why I remember his name. I can recall most third parties involved in extremely embarrassing situations. (Guess that might be why the neighbors remember who we are so well...)
Anyway, this morning, as we are coming out of the driveway, planted right at the end of the driveway, facing us, and in front of the "golden pine" which was carefully placed for our amusement last fall, is a for sale by owner sign. I can get the phone number for you, if you'd like. :)
Bill looked at me and smiled...it's this standing joke about how we are such good neighbors to have that the last three not only moved, but they took their houses with them... I looked at him and said, "Well, these folks didn't even bother to put a house in and we've chased them away." His comment was, "Yep. We move in, and there goes the neighborhood."
Anyway, this is prime land...not many trees but lots of meadows. If we win the lottery, we'll own it and the 18 wooded acres next door. Screw the idea of neighbors altogether,( except for the gal in the gray house in the valley whose roof I can see on a clear day if I squint really hard through the trees..she can stay. She's cool.)
Dangerous thought, cause then we'd own the whole road for a 1000 foot stretch...we could put up a toll booth just for the fellow at the end who wanted to make a big deal about the construction trucks trailing mud onto the gravel road while they were doing our place. (And, how did he think that complaining was going to solve the problem? Where did he think the mud was going to go??? No wonder he gets the feeling the other neighbors don't like him...they probably don't.)
Guess the odds of winning the lotto would be a little better if I actually bought a ticket, huh? ;)
