Chapter 2--The Score is Tied

The adrelin was pumping at the Baker house last night. While I was getting lost in Yeats, Byron, Emily Dickenson, Elizabeth Barrett Browning(and I even found some Kahlil Gibran), Bill and the dog were getting lost in the woods. The war on the wild things continues. So far, I think the score is tied...2 for 2.

The Missouri Department of Conservation has been trying to re-introduce the red wolf to the state...um, we'll just say that the introduction is not welcomed, and Bill says that if he wanted to live in Alaska to hear that sound, or to be chased through the woods in the dark by several in a pack, that is where he would be. Do I believe him? I'm not going to go out and check it out, thanks.

Wild things 1.

The dog trailed and treed some unidentified animal from the chicken house to its nest...pretty good for a 6 month old pup, huh? Shelties are herders, not trackers, but this one has a keen sense of smell. Bill shot into the nest and whatever it was came out just to say "Missed". Not a coon, not a squirrel. I'm not going to go and check it out, thanks.

Wild things 2.

This morning the dog was on the trail of something that was on the other side of our fence...hair standing on end says this is not good. Bill went out, but whatever will have to wait for the two of them to return...I'm not going to go and check it out, thanks. :)
