|  | Here is a fairly close representation of what I see with my left eye in dark conditions when looking at a light source.  As you can see, this is not a typical starburst pattern at all!  I do have a little bit of starbursting, which I have drawn, but the largest optical aberation, by far, is the smeared image.  For small, bright objects (i.e.point sources), the smearing actually is made up of strangely-curved lines.  For larger objects, the lines merge together and result in this smeared-together image. | ||||||||||||||||
