Engine 524 is a 1972 Imperial that was refurbished in 1989 by the Grumman Corp. At the time of the refurb, the engine was painted to match the rest of the fleet, from white with red wheel hubs, to the lime yellow. The engine is due to be retired in late 2003 upon the arrival of the new 75' E-One quint.
