Iain2

Iain was born May 27, 1995. He was born at 25.5 weeks gestation because Carrie had severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome. Iain weighed 750 grams (1 lb. 11 oz.).

Iain grew well, but developed a tracheal defect.

Iain & Dad

A tracheostomy was eventually done.

The ECMO Machine.

Iain finally required reconstruction of his trachea. He was put on ECMO (Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) for the surgery.

Iain's Last Day

He had a stroke while on ECMO. We had to make the decision to terminate his life support.

Iain's Funeral

Iain died December 20, 1995 at 12:20AM.
