Webtv Chat Program Instructions
CONNECTING
--------------------
The only differences between Version 1 and Version 2 are the way servers, ports and rooms are entered and changed and an Alt text converter on Version 2. Use Version 2 if you're a room op. On Version 1 you are taken directly to room webtv on the Talkcity irc server. Once there you can stay or change servers and/or rooms by typing in your irc server name, port number and room name in the boxes at the top of the screen. Once the info is typed in, click the "Connect" icon to get connected and start chatting. On Version 2 you will be prompted to enter a server name, port number, room name, and password of you're a room op for the room to chat in. Type these names in and click "Ok" on the screen or hit "return" on the keyboard. Click "cancel" on the screen to cancel your entries and start the process over. Once everything is entered correctly, you will be connected to the chat room. Wait for everything to load before doing anything (Both versions). Everything is loaded when you see the post about the number of people in the room. Near the bottom of the screen (above the Webtv logo), there are options to return to this instruction page, change servers & rooms (Version 2 Only), clock and tell. Clicking "Intructions" will bring up the onscreen instructions in the area at the bottom of the screen, clicking "Change Servers & Rooms" (Version 2 Only) allows you to change to different servers and/or rooms, clicking "clock" posts a clock in the bottom area of the screen, and clicking "tell" posts a public message to everyone in the room about the features of this chat program.
