January 13, 1999

The last shot of the 1997-98 season to win the sixth
National Championship for the Chicago Bulls belongs
to one of the greatest players ever known, Michael
Jordan. And now that game winning shot turns out to
be the last one that Jordan will take in the NBA. His
Airness has hung up the Nikes and retired from the
NBA.
Sports fans around the world are going to miss
Jordan. It's sad to think that we will
never see Jordan's tongue waggling as he's driving to
the basket. We will never see him dominate the
defense with his ball handling. We will never see the
#23 flying through the air. Instead we will see the
#23 high in the rafters of the United Center. I was
one of the lucky sports fans. I grew up in the Jordan
era. I saw the greatest NBA player evolve his game
over the years. Watching and being amazed at Jordans
talent. Just when you think he has done all that
there is to do, he will drive to the hoop and amaze
us again. Jordan is to basketball what Ali was to
Boxing....The Greatest. Thanks for the memories
Mike!!!
