Spiced Tea

Metric Measurements
1 litre boiling water
4 tea bags
125ml orange juice
62ml lemon juice
125ml sugar
3 x 7.5cm pieces cinnamon stick
8 whole cloves
dash nutmeg
7 slices lemon, very thinly sliced
Imperial Measurements
4 cups boiling water
4 tea bags
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
3 x 3 inch pieces cinnamon stick
8 whole cloves
dash nutmeg
7 slices lemon, very thinly sliced
Method
Pour boiling water over tea bags in a heated teapot, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and pour tea into a saucepan, preferably glass or stainless steel. Add orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Keep hot, not simmering, for at least 30 minutes before serving, so that flavours may blend. Hold longer if necessary. Serve hot with a paper-thin slice of lemon floating in each cup.
