OUR LITTLE CHICKADEE
(Jeremiah)

Me and my little chickadee

Jeremiah was brought into our lives almost 2 years ago in June 1996. My friend Lynne and her husband Darren were foster parents and had been given Jeremiah, told he would only be with them for a few weeks. That few weeks soon turned into a few months, which soon turned into a whole lot longer. He was only 6 weeks old when he first arrived. Jeremiah couldn't talk, walk and had hearing problems.  At first we all thought he was a little bit weird as he had strange habits but, after a few weeks that all changed. Jeremiah was a bright and cheerful baby and we all loved him. I used to babysit for him regularly and remember when he first started to walk and talk. We were all so proud of him. Soon he was able to recognise different people and started saying names. Whenever he saw someone such as his foster family or me, he used to give one of the widest grins I have ever seen. Anyone who meet him immediately fell in love with him and he soon became a part of our extended family. Unfortunately Darren and Lynne were told they were not able to have Jeremiah for permanent care and we had to give him back in April 1998. He was nearly 2 years old. As he drove off with his social worker he turned and smiled at us and waved while saying "bye bye". It tore at our hearts to see him go and things just haven't been the same without him.

Jeremiah loved Christmas lights and whenever he saw them, he would stand in awe.

Jeremiah, we have always loved you and always will. We wish things could have been changed so you could of stayed with us forever. You made a great impact on our lives and we will never forget you. You were my, and many other peoples, Little Chickadee.

Wasn't he a great dancer??

Created by Jannah Coman in memory of our Little Jeremiah. Hopefully one day he will be able to look at this page and remember the people who were his first family.
