I hated these stupid costumes! How were we supposed to change in and out of them so quickly. Looking around for some help I spotted a stagehand rolling up an electrical cord.
"Hey! You! Yeah, you! Come over here." I yelled at the girl, when she got to me I asked, "Can you help me get changed here?"
Usually, Angie was there to help us change, this time however, Howie's shirt sleeve had ripped. An instant repair was needed, and all the other wardrobe people were busy.
"There you go, AJ." she said, when she had finished helping me into my overcoat.
"Thanks." I mumbled, not overly concerned with courtesies where stagehands were concerned.

The show went pretty well, and we made it to the hotel with out being followed. Swarms of girls were waiting for us when we got there though, so it didn't make much difference.
"AJ! AJ! Can I have your autograph?" one of the hundreds of girls was screaming.
"Not right now!" I said barely glancing at her. My conscience gave me a little prick, but the fact that I regretted what I said, irritated me even further.
Taking one last look back before being ushered into the hotel, I tried to catch the eye of the girl I had snubbed. Finding her again in the crowd, I realized she looked very familiar, something about her eyes. I gave her a little wave, trying to make up for being rude, but the guards pushed me inside before I could see what she did.

The tour continued. We went to city after city. Waved, smiled, signed autographs, posed for pictures, just like we did for every tour. I was getting tired of it. How long did they expect me to last. Yeah, I enjoyed performing. The fans were getting monotonous though.
Performing my solo at one show, I took a second to really look at the girls in the crowd. My eyes fell on one in particular. Not overly pretty, but with the happiest face I could see out of all of them.
Her face, what was it about her face? Then it hit me. She had those peculiar eyes of the girl I had noticed before.
How is that possible? I somehow finished my song, and went backstage. Concerned about my observations.
"What's wrong, Hun?" my mom asked, putting her hand on my shoulder, "You look pale."
"I think I'm just overly stressing. Don't worry, Mom." I said, my voice trailing off.
Looking past my mom, I saw the familiar girl walking into one of the dressing rooms. Running over to inspect, I threw the dressing room door open. Looking around quickly, I realized the room was empty. I turned back to the door, and nearly jumped out of my skin.
"Looking for someone?" the girl asked, leaning against the closed door.
"Who are you?" I asked, transfixed by the weird glow of her green eyes.
"I'm a fan. A huge fan." she whispered, as her feet slowly lifted from the ground.
"What the hell!" I said, backing up as she floated closer.
Just then, she disintegrated. A second later, someone opened the door, telling me it was time to get out onstage. I looked around once again, just to make sure she wasn't hovering somewhere.
*~*~*~*~*
Finally the tour was over! I was so glad to be at home. In my living room, on my couch. Just sitting there, not having to think about anything. Another plus, was that the girl with the strange eyes hadn't bothered me anymore.
I got up to go get something to munch on. Looking out the back doors as I passed, I saw someone sitting in one of my patio chairs. Throwing open the door, I ran over to the girl.
"What are you doing?" I screamed, "Why are you bugging me?"
The only thing she did was turn her head and look at me. This time her green eyes were glowing very brightly. A single silvery tear rolled down her cheek, leaving a trail of blood on her white skin. I didn't notice anything else about her, it was as though she only wanted me to see her eyes.
"Why are you frightened of me?" she asked, in her usual whisper.
"Wait a minute! Let me think about that one for a second! I don't know, maybe because you are haunting me!" I yelled, before I felt myself falling backwards.
"I'm not a ghost!"
I think I made her angry. She flew up out of the chair, literally flew. She hovered above me for a few seconds. Then, a slow, black haze engulfed me.
*~*~*~*~*
"How are you feeling?" the girl asked, as I opened my eyes.
I couldn't speak though, and she found this very funny. I tried to stand up, but I realized I couldn't feel my body. Putting a finger over my lips, she turned me around.
I saw the sun rising. It lit everything up. The beauty of it astounded me. We seemed to be on a cloud, a cloud that stayed right in front of the sunrise. We were leading the light around the world.
Looking over at the girl, she gave me a smile. Snapping her fingers, we found ourselves back in my house. I could see me sleeping on the couch.
"So this is a dream?" I asked, without using any words.
"No." I heard her voice whispering in my mind.
We walked to my front door, and upon opening it, we were in a room. It was room plastered with BSB posters. In the middle of the room, crumpled on the floor, a girl was sobbing.
"What's wrong?" I asked the girl, but received my answer from the crying fan.
"Oh, Nick. I love you so much. You don't even know I exist. Why do I love you love you so much, all of you?" she sobbed to one of the biggest posters on
The girl pointed out the window. Tearing my eyes away from the crying fan, I saw us onstage. As though I were looking at a television screen, I watched our performance.
Something hit me, that I never really noticed before. I didn't touch the fans as much as the other guys did. Howie was constantly reaching down to the girls. Kevin also was holding hands with many of the fans.
"AJ, do you want to know what it's like to be inside a fan's mind?" I heard the girl asking.
"Of course, I've always wanted to know." I said, once again using telepathy, instead of my voice. How I did it, I've no idea.
Then I felt it. I was in the crowd. We were up onstage. My heartbeat was fluttering within my chest. I was being pushed and shoved from every direction. I didn't care though. All I could think was;
"Wow, they are up there. In the same room as me! Breathing the same air as I am! Oh my God, Howie just looked at me! Look, AJ's waving over here! Does he see me? Oh, I hope he sees me!... etc."
As quickly as I had gotten there, I was pulled away. Suddenly, I was back in the crying fan's room. I could feel her thoughts this time;
"I love you! You're all I love. You are why I'm alive. Why don't you care?"
The pain that was coming from that little fan was excruciating. Her heart was breaking. We were the cause of it. I felt a nauseating feeling creeping into me.
Suddenly, the pain was gone. I felt as though I were in water. I could feel my body, but I had difficulty moving. The girl was in front of me again. I couldn't remember what she had looked like, but I saw her eyes. Those piercing green, glowing eyes. In them, I saw a message;
"Always remember, it only takes a smile. You can light up one person's entire life, with just a simple smile. Think of what you could do with a little more."
Then she was gone.
I came to, rubbed my eyes, and looked around. The guys were standing around me, busting up. Angie looked as though she would die right then, she was laughing so hard.
"What's so hilarious?" I asked, standing up.
"Oh man, that was slick. Takes real skill to pull that off." Howie managed to gasp, between fits of laughter.
"You were trying to put on your pants, for your solo, and you fell over!" Angie laughed some more, "On the way down you hit your head, and were out cold for, like, two minutes!"
"You kidding!" I couldn't believe it. I had only been unconscious for a couple of minutes. Everything that had happened, hadn't really happened. It was all just a strange dream.

Walking down a sandy
strip of shore, I became lost in my thoughts. I never forgot what that
girl with those green eyes had taught me. I executed my lessons every day.
I tried to block all feelings of irritability whenever a fan came up to
me. I didn't even get them that
often though. I
had truly been awakened. I sat down on the beach, and gazed at the sunset.
The dark finally arrived, and I stood up. Then I noticed her. The most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She was walking along the surf.
She happened to glance my way, and gave me a little smile. But, all I could see were her glowing green eyes.
