EXPERIENCE
October 1999
to Present

Software Engineer-Central System Analytics Group
Bridge Information Systems--St. Louis, MO
  • Work focused on development of object-oriented C++ software for the Central System Analytics Group.
  • Created a multi-threaded MFC SDI application that supported multiple views and communicated via TCP-IP with several other processes. One of the views was based on Microsoft's CHtmlView and was used to show XML and SVG display output.
  • Designed object-oriented, multi-threaded software to migrate our current Open VMS based Analytic Display environment to NT.
  • Developed XSL scripts to transform dynamic XML documents into DHTML, SVG and other file formats.
  • Wrote a class to facilitate the use of MSXML and DOM to load, compile and apply style sheets to cached XML files.
  • Wrote a dialog based C++ application that monitored a mailslot to capture and display multi-threaded process output.
  • Designed a Visual Basic application that dynamically created Visual C++ project and workspace files.
  • Visual Basic applications and Excel macros to automate the summarizing and plotting of network and system statistics.
  • CGI scripts to dynamically create web pages.
  • January 1998
    to October 1999

Software Engineer-McDonnell Douglas Training and Support Systems
The Boeing Company: St. Louis, MO--St. Louis, MO
  • Concentrated on object-oriented development of simulation software using Ada95. Utilized UML\Rational Rose and company procedures to track the software from the requirement analysis stage through integration testing.
  • Developed a dialog based, C++ application that utilized UDP messages to control and monitor VME Microsystems International Corporation (VMIC) input and output boards.
  • Use of Visual Basic to develop tools that assisted in the development and testing of trainer software.
  • Helped define and update the software requirement analysis, design, code\unit test and integration processes and standards.
  • Lead and participated in peer reviews at each stage of the development process.
  • May 1997 to
    August 1997

    Summer Intern-McDonnell Douglas Training Systems
    McDonnell Douglas--St. Louis, MO

  • Modified the FORTRAN Graphics Display and Control interface for the Saudi F15 Maintenance Trainer.
  • Use of C-shell and Awk scripts to assist in the delivery of F-15 simulation software.
  • Developed a Microsoft Word macro to import and reformat the text-based F-15 simulator documentation into Word format.
  • May 1996 to
    December 1996

Technical Co-op-Center for Advanced Aviation System Development
    The Mitre Corporation--St. Louis, MO

  • Prgrammed C-shell scripts to distribute tasks to multiple machines.
  • Developed Korn and C-shell scripts to automate tasks.
  • Wrote Awk scripts to parse and summarize large Air Traffic Control data files.
  • Created an Excel macro that imported simulation data files and automatically created charts to graphically depict the data.
  • Designed macros that imported data into an Access database I wrote to track requirements changes for the Datalink program.
  • Wrote macros and functions in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word Basic.
  • Designed a Microsoft Access database and wrote multiple queries to summarize a table of airline equipage in the National Airspace System.
