Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Holt
The patrol division is made up of thirteen deputy's, one sargent and one captian. Patrol has 528.6 square miles to cover and about 40,000 people to serve and protect. Patrol is probably the most visiual section of the sherriffs' office. They provide many hours of service to the county and deserve to be recognized for their time and efforts. Soon we will have a new addition to our patrol staff as we gain a K9 unit. Hopefully I can get pics up of the new member.
The communications division is the heart of the office without them total chaos would happen. Communications is made up of five dispatcher's who handle all phone calls, all 911 calls, all radio traffic and all fire calls in the county. They have my greatest admiration for not everyone is molded to be in communications. Please remember that they are there to help you in your time of need, so be kind to them and answer the questions that they ask of you. I know the questions they ask may seem unimportant at the time to you but we need to know the answers to help you in an efficient way. Once again I want to say thank you to those wonderful people that none of us could do without. Gloria, Bikki, Connie, Pat and Sherry we would be lost without you all.
There are three ballif's that work the court system in Dyer county. They are in charge of the court room and jury security. They also serve warrants when court is not in session. They provide a great service to all the Judge's who preside in Dyer County.
The investigation division has four investigators. The investigations division handles everything from forgery's and burglary's to homicide's. They are a great asset to the county.
The jail has nine correction officers. The jail population varies from around 80 to 100. The correction officer's get little thanks and are seldom seen but we could not operate without them. They have a job few can preform and one that even fewer would want. Much thanks is owed to those men and women who operate our jail facility.
