have given there lives to protect and keep our communities safe from crime.
May we never forget the sacrifice that each has made for his or her
community. To their families and loved ones who survive we offer our heart

This torch burns in honor of our fallen brothers and sisters.

"A Part of America Died"
Somebody killed a policeman today, and a part of America died. A piece of our country he swore to  protect, will be buried with him at his side. The suspect that shot him will stand up in court, with  counsel demanding his rights. While a young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long, lonely nights. The beat that he walked was a battle field too, just as if he'd gone off to war.   Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star. Yes, somebody killed a policeman today, in your home town or in mine. While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line. Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street, and  he stands at each new rookie's side. He answered the call, of himself gave his all, And A Part Of  America Died

A Policeman's Prayer
Oh Almighty God, Whose Great Power And Eternal Wisdom Embraces The Universe, Watch Over  All Policemen and Law Enforcement Officers. Protect Them From Harm In The Performance Of Their Duty To Stop Crime, Robberies, Riots And Violence. We Pray, Help Them Keep Our Streets And Homes Safe Day And Night. We Recommend Them To Your Loving Care Because Their Duty Is Dangerous. Grant Them Your Unending Strength And Courage In Their Daily Assignments. Dear  God, Protect These Brave Men & Women, Grant Them Your Almighty Protection, Unite Them Safely With Their Families After Duty Has Ended. Amen.

Every day, those who have chosen to serve society through Law Enforcement
selflessly put their lives on the line for a greater good. They are willing to pay the
ultimate price to ensure that our personal freedoms will be maintained. Many have
paid this price to the lawless, the evil and the reckless. We owe those who serve
much more than they actually receive. They are there in day or night, on
weekends, on holidays and times when most people would not work. While you
sleep, secure in your house, they are there. And yet, many people breeze over the
headlines the next day, "Police Officer Killed" nonchalantly.

"These things happen."

"That's part of their job."

These things are true.
It is part of the job. The possiblity of danger exists around every corner, in every
dark alley, on every traffic stop.  These things do happen. But a criminal who would kill a police officer, would  have no problem killing you.   Remember those who have fallen for those they do not know. Never forget what they died for.
They died trying to keep you and your family safe.
