Dyer County's Jail

The Dyer County jail has nine correction officers.  The jail population varies from around 80 to 100. The correction officer's get little thanks and are seldom seen but we could not operate without them. They have a job few can preform and one that even fewer would  want.  Much thanks is owed to those men and women who operate our jail facility.

Visitors must follow all facility rules while visiting. Failure to follow all rules will result in loss of visitation privileges. Visitors must call and make an appointment before they can visit any inmate. All visitors must be properly dressed. No see through clothing or gang affiliated colors are permitted. Visitors must have proper identification before entering the jail. Minors may visit relatives in the jail when accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years old. Visiting hours vary, you must call to make an appointment and the day of week will depend on which pod the inmate is housed in. Each inmate has a 1 hour visit per week. For more information call 285-2802.

The Dyer County jail does not accept incoming telephone calls for the inmates. Each cell block or (pod) has a telephone for the inmates to use. Only out-going calls can be made from this phone and there is a charge to the person accepting the call. The person accepting the call is asked in advance if they will accept the charges for the call. The phone system can place a block on any phone number so that an inmate can not call that number. If you have had any problems from an inmate trying to call your number you may contact the Jail and have a block placed on your phone number.
