Once long, long ago the people of SPORK traveled freely among Mudania, other magical lands, and their own country. As the story goes, no longer do they travel between their world and Mudania. For those of you who don't know about Mudania, it is a land without Magic. The lands of Magic stay to themselves more than ever. Only a few select Mudanians, who are chosen at birth, and their lives influenced by magic, are allowed to enter the magical realm of SPORK. Of those few, even fewer are let out.
The land or SPORK has a connection to other magical lands and Mudania. SPORK allows it's people to travel between other lands and theirs freely. To this date the path to Mundania is covered by a thick fog so that no once can find it. The gate was hidden after one of SPORK's neighboring lands was attacked by Mundania. The gate was covered as an precautionary measure. None of the other magical lands are connected to each other. SPORK is the only one that is connected to all other known lands.
Thus far SPORK has kept a fairly peaceful status with all magical lands. THere has not been an all out war since the civil war of the Fork. Of course there have been a few little battles but nothing that really amounted to much. This is because the military status of SPORK is known to be very great, although if you were to enter the royal court you wouldn't know it. This is because the army of 10 million men, women, and beasts only come together 3 months out of the year; January, July, and November, and of course if there is ever a war. The army is also enhanced by a select number of assassins.
The king and a few other chosen leaders are immortal. Kings agree to serve for 4 years. When they give up the crown their immortality is stripped from them unless they become an leader. The current ruler is Aziz and he only has 3 more years before he must step down. In his last year of rule, the king must take on an apprentice. Prior to becoming an apprentice to the king you must have served under Milan the Head Mystic, Garet Jax the Weapons Master, and Harndal the Historian; each for 2 years as an apprentice. On the last day of his rule, the king steps down peacefully and allows the new king to do with him as he wishes. The wealth and splendor of the old king depends on what the new king thinks of him. But the old king is usually killed as a way for the new king to test his power.
Though the people of SPORK are a great and noble race, they are not warriors. The king is born on Earth and lives his life as normal, then at the age of 10 he receives his calling. He begins to enlist into the legion and test their loyalty. He chooses a head general and together they build up the legion. At the age of 20, a portal will open in a place known only by the king, then him and the chosen warriors descend to the land of SPORK. Inside the portal they are tested in 3 areas; Quick wit, Loyal Heart, and Warriors Spirit. Those who pass are sent through, those who don't are sent back.
The people of SPORK have few enemies. The Foons are the followers of the treacherous Aragoth; The Spoons, who are weaker but still formidable; and the most deadly is the Fork. They are a cruel and ruthless group. SPORK remains in constant war with the Fork, but the prophets have seen that on the day of the Scrubbing, Lem Dul (The lord and god of the SPORK) will return and take the body of the current king and destroy all who oppose him. When this happens all of his subjects will be rewarded and given parts of the empire to rule over. Others will return to Earth and live out their greatest dreams by the will of Lem Dul.
