I found this on Maria Axelsson's page. It just touched me, I hope you like it too..

ANYWAY

People are unreasonable, illogical, and
self-centered
LOVE THEM ANYWAY

If you do good, people will accuse you of
selfish, ulterior motives
DO GOOD ANYWAY

If you are successful, you win false friends
and true enemies
SUCCEED ANYWAY

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow
DO GOOD TODAY ANYWAY

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable
BE HONEST AND FRANK ANYWAY

What you spent years building may be destroyed
overnight
BUILD ANYWAY

People really need help but may attack you
if you help them
HELP PEOPLE ANYWAY

Give the world the best you have and youŽll get
kicked in the teeth
GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOUŽVE GOT ANYWAY.

This is a "parable" that I read way back in my high school days. I am writing it from memory, and I don't remember the source or the author.... but it is something which has stayed with me over the years. I hope you enjoy it also....

One day a tourist on the coast of Mexico was walking along the beach. He couldn't help noticing that the tide had washed up literally thousands of starfish onto the beach, leaving them stranded and helpless and dying.

Up ahead, he saw an old Mexican man. As he walked and watched, he saw the old man bend down time and time again, pick up a starfish and toss it back into the sea.

When he finally came upon the man, he said to him "Why are you doing that? There are thousands of these starfish stranded on the beach.... you can't possibly make a difference."

The old man gingerly stepped among the stranded starfish, bent down, picked one up and tossed it back into the sea. He looked at the tourist, and said, "Made a difference to that one."

You too can make a difference.... a little at a time.

We must find each other"
