Scuba at FF Vinyl launch party,

...second band, Scuba, managed to completely shatter
the uneasy calm created by Christopher Rees' set. Highly rated by FF Vinyl
who describe their music as "the best straight-up pop we've heard
in years", Scuba have already built an impressively rock 'n' roll
reputation for themselves. Despite only being on the verge of releasing
their debut single "In my car", they have been sued by Kula Shaker
over their previous name, had a punch-up with Baby Bird, and got hammered
on the Stereophonics' bar bill. "We're on some kind of collision course
with the music industry" says singer/guitarist Dave Missen somewhat
proudly. They tend towards the radical, raucous side of pop: they ploughed
their way through their set on a Beach Boys style wave of sound with a
sharp punky guitar edge...
