'Alex Mack is All That!'
TEEN BEAT, MARCH 1997
Teen Beat: You two have worked
together before, right?
Josh: Yes, she was on All That
once. We did a spoof of her show and she came and helped us out. It was
lots of fun. We had a very good week.
Larisa:
Yes! It was funny. Non-stop comedy!
Teen Beat: Okay. Let's get into the dish.
What's the first thing that catches your eye about a potential date-mate?
Larisa: I don't know! Just someone
sweet. If I saw someone taking his little sister out...I think that's just
so adorable.
Josh: Hmmm, Just about anything!
My eye wanders a little bit too much! Actually, a girl with a sense of
humor, of course, me being the funny cat I am. I like someone who can laugh
with me. Or at me! Either way. Pretty eyes is my main thing. I like the
little things-the characteristics that most people don't notice.
Teen Beat: And how would he or
she keep you interested?
Josh: Basically, she needs to
be ready for anything. I think what keeps a relationship new is the spontaneity
of it.
Larisa: He just has to be this
all-round sweet guy. That's basically all I ask.
Teen Beat: What three things do you like
more than acting?
Larisa: Maybe not things I like
more than acting, but that I like as much-hanging out with my friends,
going snowboarding-I've only gone once, but that was the most fun time
in my life!-and going to concerts.
Josh: There's nothing I like more
than acting! What comes close, though, is, I think, a good night's sleep
or a good meal. The little things in life are what really keep me going.
I love to laugh, I love to have fun, and I think that everyone in this
world takes themselves way too seriously. You need to lighten up and put
teeth from one end of your face to the other. You need to let things flow!
Teen Beat:
Where would you rather be trapped overnight: a library, a museum or a toy
store?
Josh: A toy store because there
are so many fun things to play with.
Larisa: Toy store! No contest!
I'd want to be with a friend, but that would be so much fun. We could ride
bikes down the aisles and play soccer in the aisles and play with all the
stuff.
Teen Beat: Which super power would
you rather have: the ability to fly, to read minds, or to be invisible?
Larisa: None of those-I wish I
could stop time. I think that would be the coolest thing in the world.
Like Evie on Out Of This World. I loved that show. I think that
would be so rad. In the middle of school, you could stop time and unfreeze
your friends and go out.
Josh: I'd like to be able to read
people's minds. I would have said the ability to fly because flying would
be a great power-to just spread your wings and take off. But you can fly
without/ superpowers, so I'd choose reading people's minds. Bottom line,
you can never know what people are thinking because even if they tell you
and you think they are sincere, you never can tell. It would be interesting,
but I'd like to be able to turn it off, too.
Teen Beat: Larisa, what was your
most recent "most embarrassing" moment?
Larisa: In school-I was sitting
on a bench and my friend came up and she is really strong. She pulled my
legs or something. She didn't mean to pull so hard, but she did and I fell
off the bench on my butt! That was pretty embarrassing!
Teen Beat: Larisa, what have you
inherited from your parents?
Larisa: From my dad, probably,
the need to perform. He's a doctor, but he plays the piano and when I was
really little, he got me into piano. So I've always loved to perform. From
my mom, she says I'm her best travel companion. I'm really adventurous
and I love to eat-I got that from my mom!
Teen Beat: Thanks for chatting with us!
