This week's subject: Out with the Old, In with the New !!

January 1st '98

Whew well, it’s 1:09am and here I am, updating my HomePage, am I dedicated or what ?? Well actually I couldn’t sleep, I find that’s the worse thing with being an insomniac, the fact that it keeps you awake !! Anyway I decided that I should do something valuable and constructive with my new found spare time, but my Law books are downstairs and that’s way too far to go, and I don’t want to read a book so I’m writing this instead !! This being the case I decided to reminisce a bit. 1997, what a year eh ?? I started it in Massachusetts, in Boston to be exact ! It was bloody freezing and we got there late and missed most of the fun but we made our own enjoyment, which involved running through the streets of Boston to keep warm, dancing to music from the ‘Beatles’ and wishing in the new year stood outside the city hall, on a small wall surrounded by my friends and about 100,000 other people and finding someone to share a drink with in order to wish in ’97. The yeah that followed was one of the best, I had ups and downs and those of you that I converse with will know all about those bur that can’t be helped. It was the year that I became introduced to this thing known as the Internet !! Yes can you believe it ?? I have only been surfing for a year !! It’s true and those of you that I met when I first started, thanks for being so nice and getting me addicted ! ;0) Then my carefree summer came to an abrupt end and I was plunged into what we call University life. Well this is also good fun, what with all these new people to meet, all this alcohol to consume, and err obviously all the work that we do !! ;0) Then my Christmas with my parents in a new home in a new city. Well not too bad !! The only major problem is that I don’t have any friends down here just yet to go out drinking with, not that my life revolves around alcohol or anything but it’s still nice. Anyway I’m working on that one too !! ;0)

So with all that I think that it’s time to look to the future and most importantly what I have planned for next year, and predictions, hopes and what most of you are probably dying to know, any resolutions !! Well I won’t be promising all those boring things like : stop biting my nails ( don’t do that anyway !! ), be nice to my brother ( HA !! No Chance !! ), do more work at University ( I do work !!!!! ). No instead, here are my Resolutions for 1998 !! If all goes well ( mainly implying if I remember ) next year I will review these !! ;0)

Spend more time on my HomePage.

Well I know, since I’ve been at University my HomePage has been ignored a little, well more neglected slightly, but I promise to spend more time nurturing it, improving it, introducing new and original ideas ( well if I can think of any !! ) and maybe even updating my Weekly Rant every WEEK ( gasp splutter faint ). How exciting is that ??

Better Correspondence.

Again, since I arrived at University, I have been a little slack, only writing briefly to a select few when I found the time so I promise to make a concerted effort to write more often and longer letters to you and to all those of you that I have kind of ignored, I have not forgotten about you and I will write soon I promise ! ;0)

Be a bit nicer to people !! ( well maybe anyway )

It has been known for me to be a little sarcastic and mean at times, for example you walk in after being outside, and you are dripping wet and someone asks "is it raining outside?", or you are wearing your coat and heading towards a door and someone asks "Going out?". I will try to refrain from my usual answer of "No, I am riding a motorcycle along the rooftops of Bangkok whilst handcuffed to a female secret service agent" and answer rather more pathetically with "Why yes I am" whilst whispering under my breath "you moronic excuse for a human being" !!!

I thing these are things that I can positively work on in order to improve everyone’s enjoyment. Now you may notice that apart from number 3, which is a very minor niggling point, there are no improvements to myself as it were and you may be asking yourself why ?? If you are indeed wondering this then you are a sad little person who needs a slap but the answer is because I am perfect and so no improvements need to be made ! ;0P

That being said, I’d just like to wish you all a very Happy New Year, hope that you have a good one, keep coming back here to hear more about my moronic views of life and just how unlucky I am, and don’t forget what a famous wise person once said;

"Life is like a big, comfortable couch, it’s great until some fat person sits on you !!".
