My Weekly Rant !!

New Year's Eve '98

Well, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. I figured seeing as it is the season to be merry and I have been a lazy GIT I should write a new Rant. It is has nothing to do with the fact that Devon is getting impatient waiting for a new Rant, or that my friend Robert is threatening to write a rant for me, about how useless I am for not writing a new rant. Therefore, I have no excuse, especially as I have LOADS to write about.
Well, where to begin? Well firstly there was my return to acting. Yes not many of you are aware but I used to ‘tread the boards’ [act] quite a bit. I was in a fair share of nativity plays and other plays back when I was young. Well after a short break I got back up on stage. I was dragged into, err I mean asked to join about a week before the opening night, so you can imagine the mayhem. It wasn’t too hard for the seasoned pro that I am to catch up, especially as my grand total of lines, well words, amounted to 2. Yep I had a grand total of 2 words. Well it was until a MAJOR script change took place and a line that was to be uttered by another character was auctioned off and given to me, making my total number of words equal to 5 !! Woohoo !! However it isn’t that bad as I WAS stood at the front of the stage for a while, just playing around with a snake….. Look it was cool, I was a cool, suave, sophisticated Snake Charmer in the play Aladdin. Not just any normal snake charmer though, oh no. I was dressed in a tuxedo, had a bottle of champagne and was trying to “charm” the snake. OK, ok, so most people did not get this joke, maybe a bit too subtle for them, but once it was explained they got it, and I am told were quite impressed. I was also told that a few people missed part of the beginning of the play, skipping over the plot as they were far too busy watching “some guy with a snake” on the stage. Or ME !!!! hehehehe. And hey it was somewhere to start !! It ran for 3 nights and went well, with lots of behind the scenes antics, far too many to mention here, and an after show party that was just one of a long line of ‘famous’ after show parties, in which I am told anything can happen.
And that about brings me up to date. The news is that I seem to have got the acting bug now so I am gonna audition for the next show, unfortunately it is a musical but I am gonna do my best, get a few singing lessons and see what comes about, wish me luck !! ;0)
As for next year, what is there to look forward to ?? Well Father Christmas was very kind to me and bought me what I wanted, a printer and scanner, so there is no stopping me now with my homepage. SO look out for more pics. Santa bought me lots of other things to, not too shabby this Christmas, I must have been a good boy last year !! ;0)
Then there’s hopefully my next acting ‘gig’, more coursework than you can shake a stick at, more partying and goings-on that will amount to more Rants. You know it !! ;0)
Anyway HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone, and I hope you keep coming back in ’99 for more of the same !!!
