~The Quest~

You're walking along a hall in the castle. All the paintings of dead people seen to be alive and looking at you. Torches are placed on the walls, and you can hear some activity going on in another part of the castle. This place is kind of eerie, you think.
Suddenly you trip over something that skitters down the hall. You run after it and pick it up. It's a small grey box. It feels cool to the touch, and looks like some high-tech machinery. You touch a dent in the box, and jump as it flips open with a merry BLEEP-blak! There's a blue screen on it. Suddenly the blue screen starts filling with words:

Welcome Traveler, I am the Soligar 5000.
You're here for a purpose. To find Ophelia.
She's somewhere in this world. Can you find
her? Succeed, and you'll get a reward. Fail,
and you don't want to know what will happen
to Ophelia. Good luck, traveler. You'll need it.
Go down this hall until you find a underground
dock and get in the boat there. It will take you
to where you need to go. I will reactivate then.

The screen goes blank and dies out. Oh boy. What have you gotten yourself into?  Fail, and you don't want to know what will happen to Ophelia? This sounds serious. You close the Soligar5000 and put it in your pocket. You start to walk slowly down the hall.

After walking for what seems like hours under the scrutiny of the paintings, the floor starts to slope down. At the end is gently lapping water and a boat. There's a lantern there, and you pick it up. After looking around you quickly to make sure no one's there, you get in the boat. It starts moving by itself. Aah! That's strange! You pull the Soligar out and flick it open, the bleep-blak reverberating off the damp walls. You ask it, "Soligar, where am I?"

In the castle, of course. Where else would you
be? You're in the underground river in a boat.

Sighing with exasperation, you tell it "You're NO help!" and flick it closed. Looks like you're on your own here.

Continue floating on the river!
This isn't such a good idea, take me away!
