~Nicole You must not only be a lady
you must act like a lady
Mother's words
into my small ears
sitting up straight
legs crossed neatly
hands on my knees
You must not only be a lady
you must act like a lady
first day of middle school
tits budding through my shirt
hiding in sweaters
changing in the private stall
running home after school
You must not only be a lady
you must act like a lady
eight grade french kiss
first lit cigarette
dancing so close
their hands on my ass
hands on my huge tits
You must not only be a lady
you must act like a lady
tenth grade tragedy
face between his legs
kissing his manhood
fighting after school
puffing on a joint
You must not only be a lady
you must act like a lady
walking across the stage
smiling at mom and dad
praying that I looked pretty
wishing I was doped up
waiting for it to be over
You must not only be a lady
you must act like a lady
wondering did she know
was it that apparent
I failed her, again
you must not only be a lady
you must act like a lady
This poem was written for my poetry class. We were suppose to take a piece of wisdom that we heard over and over as a child and tell how we either accepted it or rebelled against it, obvisously I rebelled.
