Aviation in General

I have always been interested in aviation. When I was a little boy of 3 years old, my parents took me on holiday to the Canary Islands. Our accomodation was very close to the airport so aircraft were flying over all the time. By that time I was always pointing at aircraft and staring at them. My father often took me to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to watch planes taking off and landing along one of the runways.

When I was older I started to interest myself in Flight Simulator (see FS page) and I got into the whole aircraft registrations thing. I knew, and still know, all registrations and names from the KLM 737 fleet. I was drawing all those planes on paper and played with it all day long. Our living room was one big airport - planes were landing everywhere. Time tables were indicating where each aircraft was heading for, I was very precise on those things.

Partially because of my experience with Flight Simulator, I nowadays know quite a lot about  real air traffic procedures, naviagtion and ATC (Air Traffic Control). In the future I would love to find a job in the civil aviation business, preferable something at "Operations" of an airline or anything related to organizing and planning airplanes and supporting equipment.
