As you've probably figured out, (or knew) my name is George. I live in is Coral Springs, Florida, (about 30 minutes Northwest of Fort Lauderdale) but am originally from Fairlawn, Ohio, which is a suburb of Akron. I was born at Akron City Hospital on February 28,1966 at 8:46 am, which is weird considering I HATE mornings. I am an only child, who came as quite a shock to my parents, considering Dad was 46 and Mom was 43 when I was born. Mom is still alive and kickin, (usually me in the ass) but Dad died in 1988. He's buried back in Akron, along with all my grandparents. Both Mom and Dad have lived their whole lives in Akron. (except, for Dad's few years on Okinawa during World War II) Dad - also an only child, was an engineer ; mom - the oldest of six, worked for a bank until they got married in 1955. And, considering that the biggest thing in Akron back then was the rubber industry, most of my family, and their friends, have worked for Goodyear at one time or another.

I basically hated school, but I did manage to graduate from Barberton High School in 1984, but received my Diploma from Copley High. (if ya wanna know more about that, just ask and I'll try to explain) I spent most of my junior and senior years involved in Vocational Graphic Arts, and finished in the 95th percentile on state exams for Graphics my senior year, which is really amazing considering how much of a partier I was at the time. Also amazing (considering hating school), since graduation I have attended The Ohio School of Broadcast Technique (didn't finish), The University of Akron (Graphic Arts, then switched my major to Photography)(didn't finish), and finally The National Institute of Technology. (Electronics and Computers)(HEY HEY - GRADUATED) So now I at least can say I'm a Certified Electronics Technician. Usually I just say I know a little bit about everything, and a lot about nutin, seeing as my occupational experiences include: (in order)

  • shipping/receiving at a collectibles company (1st job, age 13)
  • layout/design artist in an advertising dept.
  • operating a process camera
  • running a printing press
  • working in a beverage drive-thru
  • night manager at a service station (including working on cars)
  • cashier/stocking at a farm market
  • shipping/receiving in a transmission shop
  • programing/repair of pagers
  • point-of sale repair (cash registers,printers,security cams)
  • electro-mechanical panel assembly
  • general laborer in construction (1997 and 2001-02)
  • painting and pressure cleaning
  • home maintainance technician (LOL Repairman)
  • custom cabinet installer with my buddy/brother-in-law Sean
  • phone verification at a CHEESEY vacation package company (click to read how cheesey)
  • account management, review and payoffs for a debt consolidation company

Anyways, back to the time line. In 1990, (while working in the service station) I met a woman who was to become my future ex-wife. I say woman, but she was still a senior in high school. (yeah, I was 24) Regardless, I think I fell in love immediately, even tho I didn't want to admit it for some time. We had some falling outs along the way, but eventually made plans to marry on Aug. 27th, 1994. Then, along came another blow up in June of that year, (same day OJ went for a Bronco ride) and the wedding was canceled. However, love took over again, and we again began to talk of marriage. Well, in 1995, God decided to change the plan a bit by blessing us with the most special person in the world, our daughter Shianne. *I'll tell you what, I wasn't sure that I wanted a child, but the second she was born, all that changed. I've never felt so much happiness as I did that day.* Finally, on June 1st, 1996, the ex and I were married.

BUT .....

as many of us know, life ain't nuthin like the movies, and "Happily Ever After" rarely happens. On my birthday in 1997, the ex decided to give up on me, and move with our daughter to North Carolina. I haven't seen her since April 13th, 1997 when I went to visit. After the split up, I made a decision that 31 years in Ohio was enough for me. (not a family tradition I wanted to carry on) So, in August of 97, I decided to pack up my clothes, sell, give, or throw away most of my stuff, and move my ass out to Woodland Hills,CA. (just outside of LA) I had never been any farther west than Denver, CO. , and since my best friend (and best man) Jim, and his fiancee (NOW WIFE), Niki, offered me a place to stay, I figured "What the hell, I'm always up for new things." Talk about culture shock. Lets just say, there ain't no Venice Beach on the North Coast. After a couple months out there, I came to the conclusion that I wasn't gonna be able to stay. And seeing that I had no desire to return to Ohio in the winter (November), I got in contact with another friend, Dave, who lived in Florida and offered me a place to stay for a while. In January 1998 , I moved to an apartment in Coral Springs, but soon realized that just cuz your in Florida, it doesn't mean your on the beach. So, in October 1998, I moved to Deerfield Beach. (notice B-E-A-C-H)
However, fate stepped in once again, and November, 1998, I met the woman who was to become my present, and last, wife, Sheri. And as an added bonus, in some ways, I've become a father again. Sheri's daughters from her previous marriage, Jennifer and Amy live with us much of the time. My days of the wild and reckless life are now behind me, although I still have the mentality, to some extent. In 2001, I was introduced to Unitarian Universalism, and joined The River Of Grass congrgation in Weston. We are mostly made up of a bunch of "free thinkers", who are more about helping others, rather than the traditional converting of others. This has allowed me to explore areas of my life which have basically gone untouched up until now. Whereas I use to live as if everyday was the last, I now live everyday so that it will have meant something when it is my last.

About my webbing ...

I've been on the web since 1996, and basically know what the hell I'm doin. The first system I got way back in 1996 was a Pentium based PC, 100 Mhz, 1 G harddrive and 40 meg of RAM. Believe it or not, I used that thing until 2003, but could basically just check email and work on this page with it at the end. So I decided I had to join the "real" computer age and get a new system. Now I,ve got a 2.53 Ghz, 100 G Harddrive with 512M of RAM. (more soon I hope) Sheri also has a computer, bigger and faster than mine, so we have set up a computer room/office with cable internet and a scanner/copier/fax/printer. We also just bought a digital video cam which we want to learn more about using with the computer's help. And we want to buy a digital still cam also and use that to create all kinds of stuff. And the girls have Sheri's old computer in their room, so we decide to set up a home network. I learned quite a bit about computers in electronics school (mostly repair) but had never used anything above Win 3.1, so I had to teach myself about Win95, 98, 2000 and the web. Hell, all of this you see on this sight is just a lot of trial and error; ERROR being the keyword. Recently, I started setting up another page, which is to show off the River Of Grass. I've really started getting into learning what can be done on this place called the web, although much of my time is spend learning about all the things I don't know, checking out all the funny shit, and just plain "chillin".

OH YEAH, one last thing ... as you will find out ... or know, if ya know me ...

I have a tendency to speak my mind.
