WHAT'S NEW
IMPORTANT NEWS The fundraiser for MARK WILLIAMS was held on Saturday, June 14 at the American Legion Post 45 in South Meriden. Kevin and Joanne Donadio have raised over $20,000 to help Mark and his family with medical expenses while he battles pancreatic cancer. Joanne said donations are still coming in. If you would like to make a donation towards Mark's fund, you can send cash or a check payable to "Mark Williams" to: Kevin Donadio, Mark Williams Fundraising Committee, 16 Kryvel Road, Meriden, CT 06451.
The 2008 graduating class of Lyman Hall dedicated the yearbook to MR. FRAN STUPAKAVICH who is retiring after 36 years of teaching and coaching. He gave a little speech at the Senior Awards Program (my son is a senior so I was there), and when he said "Students, I have one last lesson for you", I thought "Hmm, I wonder how many more in this room than just this current class were your students at some time". It was obvious from the applause and the chorus of "STUUUUPPPPPP", that the students love him and enjoyed being in his classes. He plans to spend his retirement playing many rounds of golf and taking a cruise or two with his wife. If you would like to wish him well on his retirement his address is 39 West Dayton Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.
LANA KAY (HEKKING) MYERS wrote in from Naples Florida to say that she is fabulously happy to be a stay at home mother for her six year old son Tyler Christian. Her husband Stephen recently received his private pilot's license so although she would love to come to the reunion they will be in St. Thomas V.I. on vacation! Hopefully next time! She is an avid kick box student, sings in a female accapella group and is an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs. She also said she would love to hear from fellow classmates and if anyone is in the area on vacation - look her up! Her email is lana@gatormyers.com. To JEFF CORBETT she has this to say: GO GATORS!
GARY CHUBA wrote in to say: He and his wife have four children, two girls and two boys, and all are grown up and on their own or in college. His oldest son and his wife have a baby girl - making Gary and his wife grandparents! Gary retired from the Air Force in 2005 and now works as a field engineer on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles all over the world. When he's not traveling for work, he and his wife enjoy traveling in their RV out west to mountain bike, hike or kayak where ever they can. They currently live in California but recently bought a home outside Boise Idaho and plan to settle down there someday. If you'd like to get in touch with Gary, email him at gpchuba@gmail.com. He said he'd love to hear from old classmates.
