To Care Again

The tide rushes in
 so naturally
 then back out again
 It calls to me.

 The Birds sing their songs
as they soar in the sky
 I’t’s beautiful to hear
And a sight for our eyes

 The flowers bloom
 While Bees settle in
 Butterflies rest
 Then move on again.

 Life goes on so magically
 for nature
 for others
 But not for me.

 Grief is my companion
 I hate him so
 For replacing you
 Grief, Let me Go!

I want to wade in the ocean
 the tide at my knees
I want to wave to the birds
 and watch the bees

I want to smell the flowers
 or hold out my hand
 and wait to see
 If a Butterfly will land

 But grief rages the ocean
and scares away birds and bees
 The flowers shrivel up
 And the butterfly flees

 I hate what you’ve done
 You monster who dares
 To take away my love
 And all of my Cares

 Leave me Now
 and bring back my smile
 Let me care again
 If just for a while.
