FRIENDSHIP
             Perhaps the gift of friendship should be likened to a crystal sculpture:
                  Perfectly clear, reflecting only the intent of the maker;
                Strong enough to last forever, but oh so fragile if mishandled.
                     With features well-defined, but softly formed;
                        So as not to cut either receiver or giver.

                       To be a gift, it must always be totally free:
                 There can be no strings attached beforehand by the giver;
                 Nor any obligations perceived by the receiver afterward.
                         There can only be a single purpose -
                         The wish to share something special.

                           Please accept this gift from me.
                           I ask nothing of you in return:
                          My joy is complete in the giving.
                    The gift of friendship can never be given lightly -
                      It can only be given to such a friend as you.
