A friend and I put together an Athlon machine yesterday. I wish I had put (an Athlon) together before, because it would have helped, and I wish I hadn't heard that blurb about people breaking chips because they pushed too hard getting the fan on. Oh, and I wish I'd tried to stick in that modem earlier than 10:45pm.

The guy at PC Club (South Bay store) seemed really surprised to see girls that seemed to know what they were talking about. He was practically quizzing me. I think he might have thought that I seemed familiar (I don't know if it would have been good or bad if I'd said my nickname and not my first name). I should look familiar, I used to go to that store with my dad all the time before we moved!

He gave us the wrong chip though. I told my friend that she should take it back, totally put together, and make them replace it for free *g* Actually I told her to show them the problem and ask for a refund of the difference. I don't think either of us wanted to wrestle that fan again.

Of course, who do you think I'm going to blame for the fan thing? *EG* I won't say who - but I bet you know. I'm not mad or anything.. ^_^
