"I was born, by chance, in Zadar on 12th July 1935 to my parents natives of the island of Cres.
It is on the shores of my island where the ceremony of my life started with the scent of incense, girl's plaits, the breath of my ancestors and the murmur of the sea... shaping the visual forms of my world.
In 1952 I started my art education at the School for Applied Arts to continue it at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. I gratuated in 1960.
I am trying to interweave the solemnity of living into all the features of today's world of those same shores of my childhood..."
