Instant Mess My best bud was at my house, and we were playing aruond on America Online. We were going through member directory of people our age and found a guy whom we decided to have some fun with. We instant-messaged him and typed "Hi, sexy" to see what he would say. After a little while, we got an I.M. back that said, "Sexy is in the living room watching TV...this is his mother." Oops! Communication Breakdown When my dad finally unlocked the chat rooms on our online service, I was jazzed. I was in one of the main rooms when some girl typed "LOL" in response to something I had said. I got defensive and typed back "I'm not the loser, you're the loser! We got in an argument, and the entire chat room egged us on with "Fight! Fight!" messages. After a bit, she wrote, "Why do you think I called you a loser?" So I responded: "You typed LOL: loser online." Then she explained that LOL meant laughing out loud. I tried to cover up my goof with an excuse, but it didn't work. Boy, am I glad she knew only my screen name! Psychic Online This totally cool guy and I were chillin' in a chat room one night, talking. I thought I'd be a little daring, so I told him the kind of stuff only my diary would know. To my surprise, he knew everything about me-my best friend's name, my birthday and the name of my crush. He claimed he ahd psychic powers, and I bought the whole thing. After a few more minutes of conversation, I found out it was really my little brother, who was at a friend's house and had recognized my chat name. On top of everything else, he went and told my personal secrets to all his friends. I was beyond mortified. Cyber Slipup My best friend and I were in a chat room on the Net, and she was bummed because her boyfriend had called her a slut. She had to go walk her dog, so I stayed online and waited for her to sign on again. When she finally did, I went to type "Hi! Welcome back!" but instead I mistakenly sent the message "Ho! Welcome back!" Before I could explain my blunder, she bolted out of the chat room. I e-mailed her millions of cyberapologies, but she didn't reply for days. Chat-Room Romance One day my boyfriend and I decided to chat online instead of using the telephone. I went into a chat room, and without thinking (or looking at the screen name) I wrote, "Oh, I love you, Joe!" to the first person who came in. Then I started raving about the new bras I had purchased earlier that day. Suddenly this guy said that his name wasn't Joe, but he'd like to know more about my bras. Joe had never even entered the chat room, and I found out later that I was talking to some creep from school! Held Accountable While online one day, I noticed that my best bud had logged on. She had just pierced her naval without her mom's permission, and I instant-messaged her to ask how her belly button was doing. She replied, "What about my belly button?" Confused, I answered, "Hello? Didn't you just pierce it? How does it feel?" Little did I know that it was her mother using my friend's screen name. The next day my friend told me that her mom had made her remove the naval ring and grounded her for two months. I felt awful! Crush Catastrophe I had a huge crush on my best guy friend, but I was stumped about how to let him know. Then one day I had an idea: I went online and developed a screen name and profile that I knew he would go for. When he logged on, I sent him a message from my made-up persona and started flirting wtih him. After a little while, I called him by his full name, which he hadn't revealed yet. As soon as I sent the message, I knew I had messed up. His reply was: "Who the heck is this, and how do you know my name?" Extremely embarrassed, I logged off immediately...and avoided my guy bud for days. As far as I know, he never found out.

It is more a funny story rather than embarrassing, but it is great all the same! So enjoy! Hi, I work online in chat rooms on the net, so I've seen it alllllllll. Anyway, One time the server operator who monitors the standards came into the room. Everyone usually fears the person and immediately starts obeying all the rules. Well, some newbie asked the operator if she wanted to have cybersex. The operatory immediately killed the user off the server. Some time later, the user came back on and sent the operator a message asking why he was kicked off. The operator responded with "Solicitation of cybersex is against the rules and regulations here!" The user somewhat whittly replied, "but... but.. I wasn't gonna pay for it" =)
