From TV HITS Magazine
Backstreet Boys spend most of their time backstage these days
- and
usually TV HITS is there, too! Here are a few snaps of the guys
in
their more private moments..(these are the captions from the pics,
if I can find the pics, I will post them asap)
Nick:
Nick, like the rest of the boys, makes the most of having make-up
artists and hairdressers on the
road and gets himself a free trim. "I find it so much easier now
it's shorter," he confesses. "It's
easier to take care of, but the main reason I had it cut was because
the fans used to grab it! When we
were being pulled through the crowds by security it was always
the easiest thing for fans to grab - I
was sure I was going to end up with bald patches all over my head!"
Howie:
For the past few months, Howie's been slaving away over a hot
guitar teaching himself to play.
And when the guys were on tour in Britain recently, the guitarist
who was on the road with them
took time out to give him lessons. "I really love playing," says
Howie. !It's something I've wanted
to do for so long, but I've always concentrated on my singing
before - now I love it!" The guys
can't believe how well he's come on in such short space of time
and are really proud of the effort
he's making - he literally whips his guitar out at every single
opportunity he gets, bless 'im!
A.J:
This is a very rare peaceful moment for A.J. When he's backstage
he's usually up to no good,
disturbing all the other artists and generally causing havoc,
but he does like his time to chill -
particulary just before going on stage for a big gig. This is
typical of him - he'll quietly take himself
off, find a corner, put his headphones on and drift away. "I think
we all need a bit of time to
ourselves," he explains. "We're constantly surrounded by people,
so it's nice just to have a few
moments to yourself to think." When we took this pic he was listening
to his favourite album at the
time, by a guy called Barrie McNight who's a famous American soul
singer.
Kevin:
Kevin's been playing the piano for years, but recently he's started
doing a lot more songwriting.
"I'm real interested in all aspects of music," he explains. "You
know, I love what I do, but one day
a time'll come when I wanna do something a little different, maybe
working in the studio,
producing or something." That's why he decided to take up the
bass, because it's so important to
know all about rhythm when writing songs.
Brian:
As ever, Brian's playing the fool... without a doubt he is the
joker in the pack! He loves to make
people laugh and it's very rare to catch him in a down mood. "I
guess I'm just a happy kinda guy,"
laughs Bri. "I don't see any point in being miserable - probably
the only time you'll see me low is
when I'm ill." Bri also does the best Jim Carrey impressions ever,
and he keeps everyone amused
with his antics - the other guys, the fans, people passing in
the street, whoever!
