The next day was the big day of the long awaited Backstreet Boys concert in TORONTO, which was to be held at the Skydome. Between the time that AJ and Karine got their hair cut in their room, to the time of the show the next day, nothing unusual happened at the hotel. No notes, no murders, no sign of anything.
The day of the concert arrived, and the tourists in Toronto started to pour in for the Backstreet Boys concert. The Boys wanted to leave a little early for the venue, to beat the crowd and to make sure they get in all nice and safely. The girls were out shopping that afternoon, with two of the Backstreet Boys bodyguards. Nick and AJ couldnt be there with them, because they were planning to leave early to go to the Skydome, but made sure that the girls were protected well.
When the Boys arrived at the Skydome, they helped set up the stage, and also prepared things backstage for the concert. The Boys did a few sound checks, singing a few of their songs, making sure that their microphones were working well.
At around 5pm, the girls arrived at the Skydome to meet the boys inside. As they were walking along, the line up of fans waiting to go into the concert had already started to form, and girls were yelling at Tara and Karine, because they got to walk up to the front of the line.
Karine and Tara flashed their photo ID and Backstreet Access card, and were let inside. The skydome was a huge place, so the girls didnt know where to go. They followed the arrows, and found the main stadium area, where they saw the boys up on stage, finishing up their soundcheck. Karine and Tara took a seat in the front row on the floor, and watched the boys while they finished As Long As You Love Me.
Karine and Tara clapped and screamed when they finished, letting the boys know they did an awesome job. Nick reached down, and pulled Tara up onto the stage, and AJ did the same with Karine. At 5:30, Nick, Bri, Kev, D, AJ, Karine and Tara headed backstage because the fans would be coming into the stadium soon to start seating.
Backstage, the group had supper, which was Pizza, which was Nicks and Brians idea of course.
At 6:00, the lucky contest winners who won Backstage Passes were allowed into the room. Karine and Tara sat at the opposite end of the room, while the boys hugged the fans and gave them autographs, and took pictures with them. Karine and Tara turned on the TV, which just happened to be on the news channel.
"Welcome to the 6 o clock news. For tonights headlines, Joey Fatone of the musical group N SYNC was murdered this afternoon at the Westin Harbour Castle hotel.."
Karine and Tara yelled for the boys to come check out the TV. Some of the fans heard the news and were upset, cuz many of the fans loved both N SYNC and Backstreet Boys.
"Hes still out there..." AJ whispered to D, who was standing beside him.
"Maybe we shouldnt go on stage tonight.." Brian whispered back. Lou came in the room with Denise, and asked the fans politely to leave because he had to discuss something very important with the boys.
"As you all know, Joseph Fatone of N SYNC died today, which means, the murderer is WITHIN the hotel" Lou said.
"Ive tried to arrange it for us to go to another hotel, and N SYNC, however, due to legal contracts we are not allowed to go anywhere. I want you boys to be VERY CAREFUL about where you go, what you do, and who you associate with. I've had to hire 8 more security men, for the four remaining N SYNC members"
"I've paired you off into rooms now, No one is staying in rooms by themselves. Nick and Tara, since you are already sharing a room, you will continue sharing a room. Same with AJ and Karine. Brian and Kevin, you will be sharing a room also. Howie, your staying in the same room as me" Lou said.
The boys nodded, and all looked worried. It was time to go on stage, however, as much as the boys didnt want to go on stage, they knew that they had to. Karine and Tara left the room, and were escorted by two bodyguards out to their seats in the front row, center stage on the floor. The Boys quickly changed backstage, and then headed out on their cue.
The concert was going great, however the boys were nervous as hell. The killer could be out there, in the audience, watching their every move, and watching Tara and Karine's every move also. About halfway through the concert, the Boys decided to do their solo songs. Brian came on stage first, and performed his song, THATS WHAT SHE SAID. Nick came on next, performing HEAVEN IN YOUR EYES, followed by AJ's performance of LAY DOWN BESIDE ME. Howie arrived on stage next, holding a bunch of roses in his hand to throw to young fans in the front few rows. As Howie finished singing his song, and was about to walk off stage, a huge noise, like a gunshot, rang throughout the stadium. The fans screamed, and the guards and security ran up to Howie, who was lying down onstage. He had been shot.
Tara and Karine ducked while the chaos was going on, and the bodyguards covered them to protect them. The fans ran quickly out of the stadium, while the Boys were kept backstage.
"D!!!!!!!!!!" AJ screamed from the back of the stage out front, having an idea that something happened to his buddy on stage. Karine and Tara were rushed backstage as the fans were running out, and rushed to the room where AJ and Nick were.
"WHAT HAPPENED OUT THERE?!?!?!" AJ screamed at Karine and Tara.
"OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!" was all the words Tara could say. Karine was in ultra shock from seeing everything that happened, that she couldnt speak.
The security had to be rushed onto the stage to help Howie, who wasnt moving or breathing. They locked the room that the BSB were in, to make sure no one got in or out.
"Howie.... Howies been..... hes been.. shot!" Tara said, stuttering her words, while crying.
Nick, AJ, Kev and Brian suddenly became very silent.
"What happened?!?!?!?" Kevin asked Tara, trying to calm her down.
"He.. he was on stage singing.... when.. when we heard a gunshot... and then.. then when we looked on stage... Howie.. Howie was lying there...." Tara went on. Kevin gave Tara a long hug, trying to help comfort her from what she saw. Nick ran over to Tara, and then took her into his arms and tried to comfort her also. He led her to the nearby couch, where he held her close while she cried. Karine was still speechless, and was barely moving, which was what the shock had resulted in her. AJ tried to talk to Karine, but couldnt get a word out of her, so he gave her a long hug while she started to cry.
Out on stage, the Paramedics were rushed to the Skydome and put Howies body on a stretcher. They tried to revive him, however, they had no luck. Howie had been shot more than 5 minutes ago, and he hasnt took a breath since. They kept trying and trying, and after awhile, still no luck. Howie D, of the Backstreet Boys, had been murdered.
