"Flowers for a Karine Brosseau" the man in the doorway say.
"oh, thanks" Nick took the bouquet of flowers and signed the paper then closed the door.
"oooh are those for me??" Tara said, eyeing the flowers.
"No.. their for Karine" Nick said.
"Nick.. are you buying my friend flowers behind my back?" Tara joked.
"hehe No, they just came to the door!"
"KARINE... something's here for you.." Nick screamed down the hall.
"Figures.. you never give me flowers.." Tara joked again.
"Hey... I give you alot of stuff.." Nick smiled.
"What is it? wow.... are those for me??" Karine said, eyeing the flowers.
"yeah.. they just came to the door.." Tara said.
Karine took the bouquet and took out the little white envelope.
"Hope these cheer you up! Meet me for dinner tonight..
AJ"
Karine passed the card to Tara, who read it and passed it to Nick.
"How did he know you were in town?" Tara asked.
"We kinda bumped into eachother last night... at a Pier"
"really.. wow! How was it?" Tara asked curious, and sat down at the kitchen table.
"It was... nice.. I think he's changed.. and matured.." Karine said.
"Did you tell him.."Tara said, and then Karine cut her off.
"Yeah I did.. and he made me feel better by talking with me"
"Im glad to hear that" Tara said.
"How was the N SYNC concert last night?" Karine asked.
"Oh, it was great! Nick and I had front row, and I totally flipped out! Justin looked soo hot" Tara said in a dreamy look again. Karine laughed.
"your nuts, Tara!" Karine said joking.
"Thanks, I know I am!" Tara replied.
That evening, Karine used the bathroom for a full hour, preparing herself for her dinner with AJ. SHe didnt know what to expect, since he was still kinda with Amanda, and also, she didnt know whether this was a date or not. She decided to wear the black summerdress she bought yesterday in Orlando. She worked on her hair and her make up, and came out of the bathroom looking very nice.
"Woe you look great, Karine!" Nick said, as he passed her doorway heading to his and Tara's room.
"you really think so?" Karine asked, looking at herself in the mirror.
"Yeah, you look great! It'll knock AJ's socks off!" Nick said. Karine laughed. Tara walked into the room.
"Wow.. you can tell you're going somewhere special tonight" Tara said.
"I overdid my make up didnt I?" Karine asked worried.
"No not at all! Do you need a ride to the restaurant?" Tara asked.
"No, he called earlier and told me he's picking me up". That moment, the doorbell rang.
"I'll go get it" Nick said, leaving the room to answer the door.
"hey Bro" AJ said, standing there with flowers in his hand.
"Hey man.. can I talk to you for a minute?" Nick said, walking outside and shutting the door.
"Whats up, man?" AJ asked.
"Aren't you still seeing Amanda??? I dont want to see Karine get hurt.. she's been through alot.." Nick said, a little worried.
"Nick, bro, im still with Amanda, but not for long.. I'm not happy with her... I still love Karine" AJ admitted.
"Its just that Karine... just went through a very serious time, as you know. I just done want to see her get hurt anymore.."
"Don't worry Frack.. Im not going to hurt her. I love her" AJ assured Nick. Nick smiled and nodded his head, and went inside his house with AJ.
Karine came down the stairs with Tara and AJ's mouth dropped open. Karine looked stunning.
"Wow... you.. look so.. beautiful!" AJ said, a little stuttery.
"thanks, you look great too" Karine returned the compliment. AJ did look great, he was dressed all nicely in a suit. Karine had hardly ever seen him in a suit.
He gave the flowers to Karine, and softly took her hand.
"She'll be home later tonight" AJ said, acting like Tara and Nick were her guardians or something. Tara smiled cuz she was happy to see AJ and Karine trying to get together, and Nick grinned at AJ.
"have fun kids" Nick jokingly said, and shut the door behind them.
"They are soo weird! Its almost like they're married!" Karine said, laughing to herself.
"You know what? Sometimes, I think they are!" AJ said "I seriously believe they will be.. someday. They're meant for eachother.. like soul mates" AJ said.
"They're lucky to have that kind of love" Karine said.
"We had that... at one time.." AJ said, shutting the car door after helping Karine in his sports car. AJ hopped into the drivers side, started up the car and took off.
"You know, we had that love.. at one time.." AJ said. Karine thought about the times she had with AJ.
"yeah, I know, those were the best times of my life" Karine said.
"It could be that way.. again.. Karine, if you want it to be that way"
"Oh Alex, I do want it to be that way, but everything is just soo, confusing!"
"Whats soo confusing? we could work it out! We'll work on it together"
"What about you and Amanda?"
"Shes history.. I haven't told her yet, but I am going to, trust me on that. And for the truth, I was never involved with her when I was with you" AJ said. Something inside of Karine made her believe AJ, maybe it was the fact that she had never seen him like this, and that she just knew by instinct that he was telling the truth.
AJ took Karine to one of the fanciest restaurants in Orlando, ordering salads and meals of chicken. AJ seemed to be quite the gentleman.
After dinner, they drove out to the beach, where they walked along the shoreline, hand in hand.
"So what do you say, Karine... would you like to give it another try?" AJ asked, looking into Karines eyes.
Karine walked along with AJ for a few moments, and then stopped and stood in the sand. AJ turned to face her, she was crying.
"Whats wrong? Did I upset you?? are you okay?" AJ asked, worried.
"No, I'm fine, I'm better than fine.. I'm just soo.. happy.. oh Alex, I still love you soo much! I could never love anyone more than you!" tears streamed down Karine's cheeks. AJ's eyes became very watery, as a tear ran down from his eyes.
"God, I love you too Karine!! I never stopped loving you!". He pulled her to him tightly and gave her a big long hug, holding her very close to him.
"I'm never going to let go of you... ever..." AJ said, and then he leaned down, and kissed her.
Karine arrived back at Tara's and Nick's house at around 12:30am. Nick and Tara were still up, cuddling infront of the TV, waiting for Karine to get home so they could hear all of the details of her date with AJ.
Karine came through the door, all smiles.
"Hey guys, I didnt know you'd be up.." Karine said.
"you think we wouldnt wait up to hear what happened?! your crazy!" Tara said. "so give us all the details".
Karine flashed a smile and sat down on the couch, telling Tara and Nick about her entire night with AJ, and how they both told eachother about their feelings, and trying a new start.
"That is soo sweet!!!!" Tara said, hugging Karine. "Im soo happy for you! I hope it works out, Im sure it will.. you two are meant to be together!"
"Thanks! I just hope things go well...." Karine said. "Im going to bed, AJ's picking me up tomorrow afternoon, after he talks to Amanda. See you guys later.." Karine got up and went into her room, shutting the door behind her.
"Hey.. come on in!" Amanda said delightfully, letting AJ into her apartment.
"Thanks" AJ said, and took a seat on her couch.
"What do you want to do today?" Amanda asked, giving him a kiss, he didnt kiss her back.
"I kinda want to talk to you about something.." AJ said, nervously.
"What is it? Is something wrong?" Amanda asked, feeling nervous.
"Well.. kinda..." AJ looked up at Amanda. "I think that we should stop seeing eachother.."
"What?!? Why??" Amanda stammered.
"Because... well.. I just dont have those feelings anymore... like I did before.. and, well, you're a nice woman and all, and Im sure you can get any guy you want.. but.. you're just not the woman for me.." AJ said.
"But you are the guy that I want! I dont want any other guy" Amanda whined.
"Im sorry.. Amanda, I really am.." AJ stood up "I never meant to hurt you, I just dont feel that this should go on. It wouldnt be right"
Amanda started to cry as AJ got his keys out of his pocket.
"Dont leave me..." Amanda said.. "I love you"
"Amanda, this is the way it has to be.. Im sorry..." AJ said, then walked out of her apartment.
He walked out to his car, and took off to Nick's place to see Karine.
