Tara woke up late the next morning, having a nice long sleep so she would be well rested for her job interview that afternoon.
Tara's alarm went off, playing Everybody Backstreet's Back. She laid in bed and thought about the night before, and how much fun she had. She never knew that hanging out with the boys would be so much fun, it was more fun than she had imagined it to be.
Tara thought about Justin, and then her thoughts turned to Nick. She had liked him ever since she first liked BSB, and to see him with a girlfriend kind of upset her, but she just let it pass, thinking that it was just a fan jealousy.
"as long as hes happy" Tara said to herself, then got out of bed to go and shower.
That afternoon, Karine drove Tara into the Magic Kingdom for her interview at Disney World.
"dont be nervous!" Karine said to Tara, who seemed to turn a little pale with nervousness.
"You'll do fine, dont worry!" Karine said to Tara.
"Thanks..." Tara said "I'll call you when Im ready" Tara said, then she got out of the car. She looked at the tall 20 storey building infront of her.
"Can I help you?" one of the security men asked.
"uhm, yeah, I have an interview with... Mr Walters" Tara said.
"oh, just go in, turn to your right, take the elevator up to the 11th floor, his office will be on the left"
"Thanks" Tara said, and headed into the large building.
"You must be Tara Byng" the tall, thin man who bore a very expensive suit said.
"Yes, I am!" Tara said, opening a smile. She wanted to make a good impression because she needed a job.
"Please, take a seat!" Tara took a seat infront of the desk, and Mr Walters sat down in his seat.
"your friend, AJ McLean sent over your resume, very impressive" Mr Walters said, looking over the two sheets of paper.
He asked Tara about 8 questions, Tara answering them the best that she possibly could.
After the half hour interview, he thanked Tara for coming and told her that he would call her in a few days. Tara felt that the interview went really well, and her nerves vanished.
She headed outside and called Karine on her cell phone, and told Karine to come pick her up.
"Hey Karine, Tara" Nick said, standing in AJ's driveway, playing some basketball with AJ.
"Hey Nick" Karine said, walking past him. Tara walked up the driveway and stood near Nick and AJ.
"Hey Nick" Tara said, in return of his greeting.
"Do you play ball?" Nick asked, holding the basketball out.
"Not really, I like to play for fun.. but Im not that good" Tara said.
"I'll be right back, Nick. Im going in to talk to Karine" AJ said, taking off into the house.
Tara stole the ball from Nick, bounced it a few times and then shot it into the net.
"Hey! not fair!" Nick said with a smile.
"Watch your back, Carter" Tara said, smiling back to him.
Nick dribbled the ball and passed around Tara, slam dunking the ball into the net.
"Oh yeah Shorty?" Nick said, being proud he got a shot.
"Hey, I cant help Im short! You're just too tall!" Tara said with a laugh.
"How did your interview go?" Nick asked.
"Pretty good, I think I might get a job.." Tara replied.
"thats great!" Nick said. "How long do you plan on living here with Karine and AJ for? It must suck.." Nick said with a laugh.
"Until I get a place of my own, or find someone else to share a house with. Why would it suck?" Tara asked.
"oh you know, you know how AJ is, hes probably all over Karine alot of the time" Nick said "I'd find that, uncomfortable"
Tara laughed.
"Well, Carter, it is uncomfortable, but it's their house.. they'll do what they want to!" Tara said, still laughing and turning red a little.
"And anyways, its not like you probably dont do that at your house!" Tara said.
"ME? NO way!! First of all, I'm waiting for the right person, and second, I wouldn't do it with my family living there!" Nick explained.
"I cant believe I just told you that, I barely know you" Nick said, then started dribbling the ball again.
"Its nothing to be ashamed of, I mean, I'm waiting also.. which is one of the reasons why I feel uncomfortable when I hear Karine and AJ do their thing.. cuz I havent done that" Tara said. Nick stopped bouncing the ball.
"You and Brian seemed to talk alot last night"
"Yeah, hes really nice! He said he wants us to be good friends" Tara said proudly.
"Yeah, thats Frick for ya! Hes a good guy" Nick said.
"Mandy seems like a nice girl" Tara said, not knowing what to say.
"huh? oh, yeah she is! We're just dating" Nick said.
'just dating? why did I say that to her?' Nick thought to himself. He looked over at Tara, she was wearing one a dark blue tee. Tara looked up at Nick and he looked away, still thinking to himself.
"Thats nice.." Tara said.
Tara went over to the fridge in the garage and grabbed a soda.
"Want one?" Tara asked.
"Sure" Nick said, following her into the garage. Tara passed him a Coke.
"Its soo hot out here eh?" Tara said, drinking back her Coke. Nick watched her gulp it down, then took a swig of his.
A grey colored sports car pulled up into the driveway, it was Mar and Kevin.
"Hey Kev, Mar" Nick said, taking another swig. Mar looked over and waved.
"Hey Nick, Tara" Kev said "Where's AJ?"
"Hes inside, probably doing something with Karine!" Nick joked. Mar and Kevin laughed.
"do you think its safe to go in?" Mar laughed.
"enter at your own risk" Tara joked in, along with Nick's comments.
Kevin opened the door and went into the house, Mar stayed outside with Tara and Nick.
Five minutes later, Kevin came back out in the garage with AJ and Karine.
"sorry Nick, lost track of time.." AJ said a little red.
"its okay, I was just talking to my new friend Tara" Nick said.
"infact, new friend, lets go play some bball!" Nick said, dragging Tara up into the driveway to finish their basketball game.
"hello?" Tara said, picking up the phone.
"Hey, is Tara there?" the voice on the other end said.
"This is her.." Tara replied.
"Oh hey, its Justin!".
Tara thought back to the other night at the club, it had been about three days since that night.
"Hey! Whats up?"
"I was just wondering how you were.."
"I'm great!" Tara said "and you?"
"I've been a little busy, thats why I havent called any time earlier!" Justin said.
"Thats okay!" Tara replied back.
"I was wondering, are you doing anything tomorrow night?" Justin asked.
"no..." Tara said, a smile coming across her face.
"Well.... I was wondering again, would you like to go out tomorrow night? For supper and a movie or something?" Justin asked.
"I'd love to!" Tara replied.
"Really?" Justin asked, surprised and happy.
"Yeah that sounds like fun!" Tara said.
"Great!! You're staying at AJ's right? i recognize the phone number.."
"Yup!"
"Okay.. uhmm.. I'll pick you up at 5, tomorrow night?"
"Its a date!" Tara said. 'oh god, Im soo corny' she thought to herself. Justin laughed. He talked to her for another 5 minutes on the phone, then he had to go because he had to rehearse for his concert that he was having that night in Orlando.
Tara went downstairs to the second floor, into the Billiard room where AJ, Kev, Nick, Bri and D were.
"Hey Tara" Nick greeted her.
"Hey Nick" Tara said, taking a seat on one of the chairs.
"Look... its Ms Byng" Brian said and hugged Tara.
"Why are you soo happy, Tara?" Howie asked.
"Justin just called me" Tara said "he's taking me out tomorrow night.."
"Thats soo sweet!!!" Brian said, giving her another hug.
"Thats great, Tara!" AJ said, happy for her.
"Thanks" Tara said, smiling.
"Thats cool" Nick said to Tara "I have to go now tho, sorry Tara! I wish I could spend more time here, and challenge you to a game of pool, but I have to go pick up Manderz" Nick said.
"Hey, maybe another time" Tara said.
"yeah, Id like that!" Nick said, thinking. "well, I gotta go.. by guys!"
Nick grabbed his keys and left the house. Tara joined in on the next pool game, teaming up with Brian and playing against AJ and Howie.
