Song:

This is a song that I dearly love. I heard it at the “Acquire the Fire” (ATF) a couple years back. It has really touched my heart. It is sung in a different language.

Dame, Dame, Dame Mas de ti. Bendito Senor.
Dame, Dame, Dame Mas de ti. Quiero mas deti.

It means:

Give me, Give me, Give me more of you. Oh blessed Lord.
Give me, Give me, Give me more of you. I want more of you.

Poem: THE TANDEM BIKE –Author unknown

At first, I saw God as my observer, my judge,
Keeping track of the things I did wrong,
So as to know whether I merited heaven or hell when I die.
He was out there sort of like a president.
I recognized his picture when I saw it, but I really didn’t know him.

But later on when I met Christ, It seemed as though life was rather like a bike ride,
A tandem bike,
And I noticed that Christ was in the back helping me pedal.

I don’t know when it was that he suggested we change places,
But life has not been the same since.
When I had control, I knew the way.
It was rather boring, but predictable,
The shortest distance between two points.
But when he took the lead, he knew delightful long cuts—
Up mountains, and through rocky places at breakneck speeds.
It was all I could do to hang on!
Even though it looked like madness, he said “Pedal.”
I worried and asked, “Where are you taking me?”
He laughed and didn’t answer, and I started to learn to trust.
I forgot my boring life and entered into the adventure.
And when I’d say, “I’m scared,” he’d lean back and touch my hand.
He took me to people with gifts that I needed,
Gifts of healing, acceptance, and joy.
They gave me gifts to take on my journey,
And we were off again.
He’d say, “Give the gifts away; they’re extra baggage, too much weight.”
So I did, to the people we met,
And I found that in giving I received—but still our burden was light.

I did not trust him at first, in control of my life. I thought he’d wreck it.
But he knows biking secrets, knows how to take sharp corners,
Knows how to jump to clear rocks,
Even knows how to fly to shorten scary passages.
And I am learning to shut up and pedal in the strangest places.
And I’m beginning to enjoy the view—and the cool breeze on my face—
With my companion Jesus Christ.
And when I’m sure I just can’t do any more, he just smiles and says “Pedal.”

Story: (This story is taken from one of my devotionals called "Tea Time with God". It has a lot of neat devotionals in it. Here is a story from it.)

A grandfather was taking a walk with his young grandaughter. He asked the little girl, "How far are we from home?"
The girl answered, "Grandfather, I don't know."
"Well, do you know where we are?"
Again, seemingly unconcerned, "No, I don't know."
Then the grandfather said to her in his gentle, humorous way, "Sounds to me, honey, as if you are lost."
She looked up and said, "No, grandfather, I can't be lost. I'm with you.

Hebrews 13:5 is: I will never leave you or forsake you.

Story 2: A man asked God how long was a million years to Him. God said,"It is like one second." Then the man asked God how much was one million dollars to Him. God replied, "It is like a single penny." The man gathered up his courage and asked, "God can I have one of Your pennies?" God said, "Sure." ... "Just wait a second."

A Hymn by J.E. Myhill:

He Giveth More Grace

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater.
He sendeth more strength when the labor's increase.
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father's full giving has only begun.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men.
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

RIDDLE:

What is greater than God,
More evil than the devil,
Poor people have it,
Rich people need it,
And if you eat it you will die?

NOTHING

Nothing is greater than God.
Nothing is more evil than the devil.
Poor people have nothing.
Rich people need nothing.
If you eat nothing you will die.

STORY:

A young and hot-tempered officer in the army struck a foot soldier. The foot soldier was also young, and noted for his courage. He felt the insult deeply, but military discipline forbade him to return the blow. He said with conviction, however, “I will make you repent it.”
One day in the heat of battle the foot soldier saw an officer who was wounded and separated from his company. He gallantly forced his way through enemy lines to the officer, whom he recognized as the one who had insulted him. Nevertheless, he supported the wounded man with one arm as the two fought their way back to their own lines.
Trembling with emotion, the officer grasped the hand of the soldier and stammered out his gratitude, “Noble man! What a return for an insult so carelessly given!”
The young man pressed his hand in turn, and with a smile said gently, “I told you I would make you repent it.” From that time on they were as brothers.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:20-21

“Am I not destroying my enemies,” Lincoln gently replied, “when I make them my friends?”
