  I hate smokers I hate the church. All I see is a whole bunch of loud-mouthed, outspoken hypocrites in it, with their pretensions to devotion and holiness, a bubble-thin veneer that barely hides all the greed and lust that resides in every human being. It's not so much a few bad eggs that spoil the basket, as they would like to have you believe, but rather a few genuine slivers of gold among all the silt and mud. It's an alien culture and I don't even want to fit in. It's not so much the hypocrisy that irks me, but that they're all so loud about it, so excited to profess their faith and show it off, and that they're all so pleased with themselves while they do it. And that I have to go there.
