Tara's first week in Florida was the busiest, rearranging her room and moving in, settling everything to the way she liked it and what made her comfortable. Karine helped Tara from time to time, helping her put up her posters or arranging furniture, then taking time out for girl gossip conversations.
"So, now that you're fully moved in, how about a night of some fun? Its friday night, the town will be hopping" Karine said. Tara leaned her head back against the comfortable leather couch in the living room.
"What do you have in mind?" Tara asked, making herself comfortable.
"I was thinking maybe we could go shopping this afternoon. Alex was talking about going tonight, with the rest of the guys, he invited you to come along also!"
"Sounds like fun!" Tara said "let me go shower first, I still need to wake up and have breakfast!"
Tara climed up the two sets of stairs and went into her room. After a nice relaxing shower, she went downstairs and had her breakfast. Karine had just finished eating, but sat at the table with Tara while she ate.
"Alex arranged for you to have a job interview tomorrow afternoon" Karine said.
"really? already? How did he manage that?" Tara said, a little surprised.
"He has his connections" Karine said, smiling. "You have to go to the head office of Disney"
"great! Thanks alot!" Tara said, happy. She needed a job to make money, so she could move out and get a place of her own someday, and so she had money to live on and have fun with.
"ready to go shopping now?" Karine asked. Tara took her dishes and put them in the sink.
"lets go!" Tara said. Karine and Tara grabbed their backpacks and headed out to the garage.
"Does this dress look alright?" Tara asked Karine, stepping out of her bathroom. Tara was wearing a short blue and black summer dress with little straps.
"Tara, you look great! What do you think of my new outfit?" Karine asked. Karine was sporting a new pair of cargo pants with a tight yellow tee.
"Styling!" Tara said, with a little laugh.
"KARINE... Tara... are you guys ready to go? the guys are here.." AJ screamed up the stairs. Karine rolled her eyes up, she hated when AJ screamed up the stairs like that.
"Coming!" Karine screamed back.
The two girls made their way down the stairs, and found AJ in the kitchen with Brian, Howie, Kevin, Marie, Nick and Mandy.
"Mar!!!" Karine said happily, looking over at one of her other best friends. Marie Fournier was a young woman, 20 years old. She was a tall girl, very pretty, it was no wonder that Kevin liked her soo much. Mar and Kevin had been together for about two months.
Mandy was a girl that Karine didnt know too well. She had been dating Nick for about a month. Mandy was another tall girl, very skinny. She had long blonde hair that shined in the sun, and blue eyes. She looked like a Barbie.
Tara looked over at Nick, he looked really good tonight. He had been her favourite Backstreet Boy ever since she became a fan, but instead of flipping out she decided to keep her cool.
"Hey guys" Tara said, after AJ introduced her to everyone.
"Hey! AJ's told us alot about you" Kevin said, shaking Tara's hand.
"really? All good things, I hope!" Tara said, joking.
"Tara!!!" Mar said, giving Tara a hug. Mar and Tara knew eachother from the internet, from chat lines such as ICQ, IRC and email.
"Hey Mar!! Its nice to see you again!" Tara said.
"Well.. you guys ready to go? im starving!" AJ said, rubbing his stomach.
"Yeah.. lets go" Karine said.
The group headed outside to the driveway of cars. Nick and Mandy climbed into Nicks truck. Mar and Kev got into Kev's car. AJ and Karine got into AJ's two seated sportscar.
"You can ride with me, Tara" Brian said, opening the door of his jeep for her.
"Thanks!" Tara said with a smile. She climbed into his jeep and Brian got in also. He started up the engine and followed the rest of the cars out of the driveway.
"I just knew it.." Tara said, as they pulled up into the parking lot of McDonalds.
"Leave it up to AJ to pick the restaurant, he'll ALWAYS pick Mickey D's!" Brian said. "you dont mind, do you?"
"you kidding? Who doesnt like McDonalds?" Tara said. She got out of the jeep and headed into the place with everyone else.
After they all got their food, they sat down in one of the corners at a large table. Brian, Kevin and Mar kept on asking Tara questions about what she thought of her first week, and how she was dealing with moving in, and just basically making conversation to make her feel included.
"Since this is Tara's first social night here in Florida, I say that we have her suggest what she wants to do" Brian said, leaving Tara decisionless.
"I.. I dont know what there is to do.. what do you guys normally do?" Tara asked.
"We usually go clubbing" Nick said
"Or to Old town" Howie added.
"or check out the movies!" Mar and Kev said.
"Well.. does anyone feel up to another club?" Tara asked. She knew that Florida had some hot clubs, and on friday nights, the place would be packed and the music would be loud.
"yeah, clubbings fun! We'll take you to this one that we usually go to, near Planet Hollywood" AJ said, finishing his burger.
After everyone finished their food, they left McDonalds and headed off to the club.
The music soared loudly as everyone entered the club. It was a very large place, with everyone crammed onto the dancefloor. The lights were low, with a strobelight and many other flashing lights flashing all over the place.
BABY ONE MORE TIME by Britney Spears was playing loudly over the DJ's stereo system.
"oh I love this song!" Tara said.
"Well then lets go dance!" Brian said right away, grabbing Tara's arm and taking her out to the dancefloor.
"Hes being a flirt tonight" Nick said, looking over at Brian. Mandy looked up at him.
"Hes just being nice, Nick" Mandy said.
Nick led Mandy out to the dancefloor and started to dance with her.
The club was hot, and alot of people kept pouring into the place. Brian kept Tara entertained while Karine and AJ were off having their fun, engaging in a deep conversation and getting to know her. Kevin and Mar were off in their own little world, enjoying a few drinks and dancing the night away.
The DJ decided to change the pace and started to play some slower music, good for slow dancing.
"Ms Byng, would you like to dance?" Brian asked.
"Id love to Mr Littrell" Tara said. She stood up behind Brian and followed him out to the dance floor, and wrapped her arms around him, while dancing slowly with him.
"How are you enjoying the night so far?" Brian asked.
"Good! Its fun" Tara said.
"Yeah.. I know, we come here alot!" Brian said, whisking Tara around the dance floor. When the song finished, Tara felt a tap on her shoulder.
Tara turned around to see a guy, about 6'1, blonde curly hair and beautiful blue eyes standing infront of her. It was Justin Timberlake.
"Would you like to dance?" he asked her. Tara looked over at Brian, who smiled and nodded at her.
"That'd be nice" Tara said, and started to slow dance with Justin.
"My name is Justin" Justin said, introducing himself.
"I'm Tara" Tara said, introducing herself. They danced slowly to the song that was playing. Justin kept asking her questions about herself, asking her how old she was, and where she was from. After the song finished, she took him back to the table where Brian, Nick, Mandy and Howie were sitting, and started talking to Justin, asking him questions about himself also.
"Hey Timberlake, what are you doing here?" AJ said, returning back to the table with Karine.
"Talking to Tara" Justin said with a smile. Tara smiled back.
Tara felt an attraction for Justin, he seemed to be very sweet, and not to mention, VERY cute!
"Well, its getting late, we have to get going" Kevin said, looking at the time. The Backstreet boys had to get up early the next morning to work on their Christmas album that was going to be out at Christmas time.
Tara looked at her watch, it was almost 1am!
"Can I call you sometime, Tara?" Justin asked. He had a good time talking to her, and wanted to get to know her better.
"sure" Tara said, smiling. She grabbed a piece of napkin and wrote down AJ's home number on it.
"Thanks" Justin said with a smile, and put the napkin in his jeans pocket.
"talk to you soon!" he said, then he got up and left.
"That was one of those N SYNC guys, wasnt it?" Mar asked, looking over at Justin as he walked away.
"yeah, hes a nice guy" Brian said.
Kevin finished his last drink, along with AJ, and then they headed home.
