UNBELIEVING LOVED ONES:

When you are a Christian and you have “lost” family members it can be really hard. Set an example by love to that person, and pray for them continuously. Showing love to them and praying is, I believe, the best things you can do to bring the loved ones to know Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:9 is: … In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost. (My Thought: God wants us all to be saved.)

Matthew 5:16 is: Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven. (My Thought: Let your loved ones see your light.)

1 Peter 3:1-2 is: 1 If you are a wife, you must put your husband first. Even if he opposes our message, you will win him over by what you do. No one else will have to say anything to him, 2 because he will see how you honor God and live a pure life. (My Thought: Although this is talking about married couples, we can apply this to our lives, also.)

Philippians 4:6 is: Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. (My Thought: Pray about it!)

Colossians 4:5-6 is: 5 When you are with unbelievers, always make good use of the time. 6 Be pleasant and hold their interest when you speak the message. Choose your words carefully and be ready to give answers to anyone who asks questions. (My Thought: This is an awesome verse! It says “to give answers to anyone who asks questions”. That is one reason why we should read our Bible. We gain knowledge and insight when we read it, and can use verses to answer “their” questions.)

Acts 26:18 is: “I want you to open their eyes so that they will turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me they will become part of God’s holy people.” (My Thought: God wants you to witness! He wants you to spread the good news.)

Things (from these verses) we have learned that we should do in order to help loved ones come to know Jesus Christ:
1) let your light shine
2) put them first (before yourself)
3) set a good example (by honoring the Lord, and living a pure life)
4) pray for them
5) make good use of your time with them
6) be pleasant
7) witness carefully
8) read your Bible so that you can be well prepared for the questions “they” ask
