Oh, the agony of being a teen pop idol.
Brian Littrell, of the Backstreet Boys, could not even list his girlfriend, Leighanne Wallace, in his thank-yous on the group's new album, Millenium, because there was fear of a backlash against her. Littrell, who also had open heart surgery last year, instead makes oblique reference to Leighanne at the end of his notes: "I love you baby and all your family too, also as well." Not exactly "Oh Yoko" or "Layla," but it's something.
Leighanne told me by phone from her Orlando, Florida, home Thursday: "At first we were afraid to 'come out' because we thought the girls would be mad. But they've really come around. I actually have girl fans now. I have 700 e-mails to answer."
One BSB fan even created a web site for Leighanne.
"She wasn't even a fan of the Boys," says the late '90s version of Linda McCartney.
Leighanne says she pals around with one other BSB girlfriend, Mandy Willaford, the steady of Nick Carter.
Do the other Boys have girlfriends? "It depends on what day it is," laughs Leighanne.
"When they choose to admit it. Sometimes AJ does, sometimes he doesn't. We have to be careful."

As of the time of this writing, I have been told that she is filming a pilot for a television show called "Vamps".
I don't have a whole lot of info as to what it is about, but I hear she plays some kind of crime fighter and gets to carry a gun and blow things up...which, in my opinion is a good role for her! I just see her as a "don't sh*t from anybody" kind of gal!
Props to Amanda, and we wish her tons of luck on her newest venture into acting!
You can rest assured that we will bring you the latest in girlfriend information as soon as it has been confirmed by a REPUTABLE source (ie. The Boys themselves, management, etc...)
I know this has been said before, but PLEASE...They are young, attractive, talented, good hearted men. (How many of those kind of guys do you know that NEVER have a date/a girlfriend?!?!) Please do not shout obscenities at, wish terrible things toward, or defame the young women these men choose to date. They are grown adults, they make their own decisions. Just let them be happy with whomever they chose, afterall, it is their job to make music, not to be the center of every young womans scrutiny regarding the special ladies in their lives. In other words...GROW UP PEOPLE!
