I have been on the web for about two years now and have had many good and not so good experiences.
When I first came online I stayed mostly on Aol because I had this fear of the web.
I guess you could say it was a fear of the unknown. Then I met someone in a chat room and he took me
to a game site on the web. From there WOW I was totally addicted.
I met so many people there from all around the world I just couldnt believe I had lived so long without it. :-) .
From there I became a Sysop at a different game site and spent most of my time there
helping people and playing games myself.
It was there that I met some of the best friends I could have ever asked for.
You will see there links on my friends page.
But through all of this I have learned a few things.
Honesty is such an important thing on the web. Be yourself and expect that of others.
Many people are on here living a dream and when the dream shatters people get hurt.
Be careful some people are not what they seem to be.
We can all paint a pretty picture of ourselves when we are typing over the net.
I have been lucky enough to meet three of the people I met on the web in real life.
Dragon and I met in April and we became instant real life friends as well as online friends.
I think he and I will be lifetime friends. :-)
Sonia and I met in a chatroom and ended up living down the street from each other
when her husband got a job transfer and moved to my town.
And last but not least Carsten and I met playing cards before I even thought about moving to Germany.
We met for a short while as he travelled through where I am living,
but we are looking forward to me travelling to see him and his part of Germany soon.
Check out the rest of my pages, make lots of friends and enjoy the web it can be a great place. :-))
