Soul Searching

Pray, look deep into my soul
And tell me what you see
Inside here I am one that's whole
Not like the outward me

Lots of caverns to lose yourself
paths and winding stairs
closets full of skeletons
and rooms of love to share

There are many parts that are
deep and dark as night
and others in your wanderings
are filled with blinding light

The soul is endless, boundless, true
Each one unique as well
Try to find the light in you
Then no secrets it will tell

They say that some will share a soul
A missing piece of two
That when it's found, it will be known
That they're a part of you

It's not always so obvious
This precious gift of love
But when you finally find it
You thank the stars above

To open up your soul to some
Can be the greatest thing
It clears your mind and soothes your heart
And makes your whole world sing

So be careful how you treat it
This fragile soul inside
Welcome it with open arms
Treat it cruel and it will die

A forgotten soul is a sad, sad thing
A lost one can be found
A soul that is full of love
Is the sweetest soul around
