2:20 AM in Madison, early morning Thankxgiving. I just got up from a 6 hour post-work/post-chill session nap.

why stay in Madison again for a 3rd turkey day? why not actually? It is incredibly quiet and mellow now with all the crazy students outside my window making noise, less distractions, and good studying environment...I guess its also kind of a trend to continue too, year 3 already. Theres a ton of work i need to do before this weekend is over, both academic, extracurricular, and personal....my side of the room is a mess, not to mention.

Plus i've been feeling incredibly anti-social lately...

A print copy of the The Paradox came out, I got a copy to look over and to start transposing it onto the web. Hopefully it'll be ready about the same time the hard copy comes out, but with just me working on it, that seems doubtful.

I lent out my TV to a friend down the hall last night and i forgot to get it back before they left for home, so i'm without a one-eyed deamon to mesmorize my puny human brain. I've had to resort to the computer to make up for it. kinda sucks, since i can't watch any of the big football games on tv tomarrow, but ah well, maybe i'll actualy get around to studying on thanksgiving.

before I forget, today I had a chance to go check out the student radio station WSUM here in Madison, brodcasting from a "secret location", on the internet. Its pretty cool because i don't have a radio, but I do have my winamp player. I met one of the DJs, she has a radio show on Tuesdays at 8-10 playing HK music. Check it out so she gets famous.

28 days to da rock.....

And so its the first saturday without a Badger game. I'm still watching the one-eyed deamon to see whose ass we'll be kicking at the come Jan 1. The biggest one is the Cal vs Stanford, if Standford wins, we're chopping some tree down, if stanford loses, we're kicking Jossems' favorite huskie in the head.

I've been working on The Paradox this whole week, well kind of sort of. We're falling behind schedule, and I haven't really been able to contribute that much being that the one weekend i was supposed to commit three weeks ago to layout and design was spent hanging out instead. I've been swamped with a lot of work, so I haven't really been helping, but oh well. I'm working on a web-version of the magazine that should be online by Xmas, at the rate we're goin.

I had originally written an article about the transition from Hawaii to Wisconsin, but since one of the writers doing an article about christianity had second thoughts about submitting her article on the grounds that it was too offensive, the editors decided to use on of my old ILS 209 essays. The Hawaii article will be used in next semester's issue. I wonder what kind of response i'll get from this issue.

I went to the Chicago-gal & the Nice girl's place for dinner last night, we drove around town first getting all these gourmet ingreda-ments it was fun. We had a big pot of mussels cooked in garlic and basil, spring rolls and a very nice salmon dish that Will whipped up with his magical chef-skills. I made some pumpkin mochi and manned the drink blender. Did you know that spending a couple extra dollars on Bicardi SELECT instead of just the regular Bicardi seems to make a difference in pina colodas?

Turkey day is coming around the corner, and it looks like another mellow break for me in Madison. 3 years, I'm used to it, and actually kind of looking forward to some nice long laps. and 12 hour study sessions of ochem and soc. Finals are around the corner and i'm longing for warm sandy beaches of Hawaii. 33 days to back on da rock, and 59 days till I'm legal. yes, I was bored in class.

I bought one of the last 6 Ron Dayne Jerseys on State Street according to the Newspapers. Madison was a carnival all over again for the final home game of #33, in which he rumbled his way into NCAA football history overshooting the rushing record by about 118 yards. They retired his number on the wall of Camp Randall stadium, and with the 41-3 win over Iowa, and Penn State's loss to Michigan Wisconsin is going back to the Rose Bowl to play some shitty Pac-10 team. I can't believe I sold my ticket for $40 4 weeks ago.

So Football season is over with the Badgers have a bye week, so I guess i have to start studying on Saturday mornings being I don't have an excuse anymore. I have a Stats exam and two papers due this week, and more tests around the corner. It looks like i might be spending another Thanksgiving in Madison, which is actually kind of cool, its really peaceful and empty.

'Dogma' was pretty good, I guess I can see why the religious people are against it, but at the same time I don't think they should make that much of a stink about it, in reality the movie kind of makes you think about religion, and in a sense instills me faith into you. The point is that you have faith in something--not be a tool or a stooge that just goes through the motions of religion without meaning.

Websites been pretty good, I'm talking about the website I'm getting paid to maintain, its off to a slow start cuz I don't have anything to post just yet, and I'm not sure where to put everything. I went to an AASU party on Friday, and then to Angelics Bar/Resturant, there was a DJ playing some dancehall/reggae music Chaka Demus & Pliers, it was pretty neat. Bars are expensive though.

I'm still getting used to this whole Asian-American thing, I got into one of my deep moods on Friday, after bar time we went to Perkins which is like a Madison-Zippys and I listened in on peoples conversations of Race and identity. It still is a trip for me realizing how strictly racial lines are drawn up here.

I wrote an Article for the 'Paradox' which is an AA magazine here at the UW. Layout was going on all last week, and I helped out a bit. I wonder what the response will be as it isn't exactly 'Asian' let along 'Asian-American'.

I've been in the habit of starting these journal entries with football scores and what not, so I think I'll continue that since yesterday's game was pretty awesome. 28-21 Wisconsin over Purdue, and perhaps the best QB in the NCAA Drew Brees. It was a close game, I ended up going to State Street Brats watching it on the big screen there. Ron Dayne is about 98 yards away from becoming the all time NCAA rush leader. makes me wish I didn't sell my Iowa tickets for next weekend, its gonna be crazy in the Mad City since Iowa really sucks this year. He'll probably break the record in the first half.

The mid-semester midterm crunch is here, and it looks like lots of work work work from here on out. Kinda puts a damper ont he whole college experience, all the responsibilities and expectations of grades.

I went to a Counseling Psychology graduate study meeting, I just realized that I can apply for the program this semester, and I might be working on a M.A. next fall, as a 4th year student. kind of scary how fast time has gone by.

Dogma opens next weekend, and there is an exclusive free screening here at the Union for students. It looks really good. I missed seeing "Being John Malkovich" last week cuz I had to study for an Orgo test. I heard it was relly good.

Went to a Karaoke bar on Friday, had a lot of fun watching people sing country songs and "Baby got back" while watching people get up on tables and start shaking their butts. I went with a whole bunch of leaders in the Asian-American groups here.

I've been getting quite active with the Asian-American groups here, part of the planning and coordination of events and organization. I got a job as a web-designer for their website and I've been leased out to start up a Latino group's website as well. Its kind of interesting how I'm representing the Hawaii Club here on campus which is Asian-American in classification, but honestly culturally far from what I have come to understand as being "Asian-American". Plus half of the people up here from Hawaii are hapa or Haole anyway.

me and "Chicago-Gal" talked about issues of race, identity and minorities for a couple hours last night at Z-Teca, it still fascinates me the cultural differences between locals and katonks, and the role of racial identity, or lack of plays in peoples lives.
