Been busy as heck the past two weeks, not enough time obviously to leave an entry or two.

Finished up my finals for the semester, turned out getting at least a 3.5. still waiting on two grades still yet. been worth while, but a little hectic, the academic in me is still alive and well. Hopefully I'll be in an actual degree program come next fall.

Decided to continue with the court and PSD for the spring, also will be taking probably 6 more cr at the University of Hawaii system.

Jason and Tanja got married a couple of days ago, pretty much the big highlight of the past two weeks. I helped out a bit with the footwork before and during the wedding, ended up being a last-minute MC and candle lighter. Aaron and the family band played at the reception.

Went out to Lanikai again yesterday on Xmas day, it was strange to see it packed with mostly haoles and out of towners who were probably staying in the houses along the beach for the holiday. My brother was telling me about Kauai as becoming more resorty since last time he visited. Macy's bought out liberty house, and there are jamba juices and starbuck couples popping up everywhere. pretty soon some of these old time okazuya and plate lunch stands will be shutting down to make way for more papa johns.

makes me think about whether I'll end up here or on the mainland for a while. part of me wants to stay here, this is home, but at the same time I don't know if I want to sit around and watch. Which wouldn't be entirely bad, but something tells me living on the mainland leaves more options and mobility.

Not much new, same old. My jury duty got pushed back to Wed, so I'm spending the day at home before class to work on applications. So far progress, but not as much as I was hoping for. will see.

UH beat #9 BYU this past weekend 72-48 for a pretty crazy final game of the season. I think its been almost 3 years since we played BYU, and 6 since we last beat them. Funny really, I was expecting maybe a close game, but not a blowout like this one. Rolovich had over 500 yds and 8 touchdowns.

December and its just about crunch time for applications. actually not yet, but for me I'm actually a little sick of it and just want to get it pau already. I'm in pretty good shape considering. Hopefully it'll be pau soon so you won't have to hear about it for a while.

I got an invite to an informational meeting at the UH Law school, think I'll stop by, tour the grounds. I've actually been doing some reading and the moot court on indigenous rights sounds appealing. Not sure if I'd get involved exactly, but it would be interesting to sit in for observation.

Brings it back to the Land Tenure Center and what not.

I spent a good share of this weekend piddling on the internet looking for the lost continent of Lemuria, or "Mu" sort of an Asian-Pacific Atlantis that according to claims, existed before Atlantis. Apparently the undersea monuments are being dated back 12,000 years, older than the pyramids at Giza. Some are suggesting that it may be a temple from an sophisticted society that existed a long time ago predating even the Ainu and Jomon. It might give some explanation for the knowledge of astronomy and navigation of trans-pacific voyagers, as well as similarities in linguistics, pottery, and folklore. Who knows, maybe theres remnants of Mu around here in the Hawaiian Islands.

War in Afghanistan is on the news, I've been following it all right. While part of me thinks this might be over pretty soon, better senses say that it'll carry on for a bit. My thinking is that the US is going to end up overthrowing governments and putting in workable governments. it makes sense really, for stability, can't argue with that. Its more the methods that we have used in the past, I'm still slightly optimistic that this time may be different.

Meanwhile stupid blind patriotism is rampant. I say "stupid" because for the most part that is what I see, symbolic gestures and flag waving, but no sense of unity, or solidarity. One rumor I heard was that one of captured Americans serving the Taliban was a student at Madison. Haven't seen any mention in the news just yet, but the thought actually crossed my mind. If its true, I wonder what the response is up there.
