The Battle Within part 2
I have once again awakened into the darkness,
Seeing all I have ever seen
Knowing all I have ever know.
Once again I am running in the darkness,
Away from that mysterious creature,
The creature that lurks everywhere.
Once again I feel its hot consuming breath,
It pursues me like the perfect hunter after its prey,
Chasing me like a hound after the fox.
Everywhere I turn its glowing red eyes are glaring,
Watching me from the shadows.
All around me its heartbeat echoes,
Its hatred searing through the night like lightning.
It strikes out of nowhere ,
And everywhere.
I fall, head ringing from the blow
Falling in to the abyss I created
Falling into the spirals of energy I had created,
Now decaying and dying,
Forgotten realms of the mind
Awaiting rediscovery.
And then it is on top of me,
This creature that haunts me from within,
Its eyes searing my soul once more.
Its face a ghastly shattered image of my own.
No sword this time,
No hope of salvation,
Locked in a vise that is my destruction.
And yet we stand there staring back into each others eyes…
