WELL, if you're not yet tired of reading crap stuff from this page, you went to the right place. Actually, this page contains ideas, things, people, places, events, and stuff which really ticks me and pisses me off. OR sometimes, if I'm in a good mood, I'll put in stuff which I think is totally awesome (but I guess I have the 'coolstuff' page for that). Anyway... I think I really have to put this section up to enlighten some people, relieve them from boredom, or tell them what's up (or down) in my side of town.
This is going to be my 'Free Talk' section in this page. Since I love to write stuff, I'll be putting up things here frequently, like twice a week or something, I dunno. Anyhow, let's start off shall we?
What was on my mind -- 03. 26. 99
Hey y'all what's up with ya? Tomorrow's my sister's graduation... must be exciting, and tomorrow's also my big trip to the Megamall with my bros! Heehee.
Well anyways, I've been totally busy and I kinda neglected this page because of well, I'm busy and I had life! LOL. Well this edition of TNC will be about the disaster trip I had at Bali, Indonesia... and erm, in Thailand (sorta).
OK, so why did we go to Bali in the first place? They say that it is total haven... great waves, great weather, great beach... well, thats what me friends told me. BUT...
The place was OK, but I can really say that the local beaches in here like Boracay is way way way better. I hated the hotel... one day, we can't go out the hotel because they say it's like an important holiday and noone can go out. So we had to pay like $25 Aussie bucks for food, and when we got to the hotel's restaurant... the food was all gone! Luckily we bought some chips and junks to eat so we settled on that instead of empty stomach. The Aussie dudes in there told us that the food was crap anyway and they didn't eat heaps of it.
There was also this vendor who wouldn't leave us alone! My brother's wife's mom touched this silver bracelet and the vendor says its considered sold! Geeez... and when we said we won't buy it, he keeps on shoving that stupid bracelet on the mom's face and he wouldn't leave her alone till she buys it. Her husband nearly punched his nose. That was freaking annoying!
Also, another vendor sold us this figurine thing at $150 Aussie bucks, and when we saw the very same figurine at the Duty Free Shop, it's just 30 bucks. I know its kinda our fault, but hey, get some honesty dude!
It was really a nightmare. Luckily we spent only 3 days in there and went to Bangkok. My brothers weren't able to join us coz their passports weren't processed. Farkin DFA! Bangkok, Thailand is still cool as ever, lotsa malls, great place. I love it.
Well, this is the trip I really really hated. Luckily, my mom, Apple (my bro's wifey), her mom and stepdad from Australia were there and they're really cool and funny. It'll be better (a little) if my bros were there too, and if we didn't go to Bali. Well here's a piece of warning, I guess you should wait till the Civil War in Indonesia finishes before going to Bali. The people there are having a hard time and I think you won't enjoy much if vendors and all that are carrying merchandises on your face. A great idea will be: spend your summer vacation visiting the great spots at your home country. That way, you can discover the rich culture of different places and help the country as well. Have a wonderful summer everyone!
Still one the TNC...
What was on my mind -- 01. 07. 99
Howdy people. Well, I thought I'd write this stuff since 1998 was really a great year for me. Lotsa great things happened - and there were also some bad times, but heck, it's all part of it... like in what I believe in -- "What don't kill you will make you stronger." (Huh you say? Forget it. ^_^)
January 1998
It was my first shot at the Internet! I was awed at this wonderful world wide web when I was at Singapore's Phoenix Hotel's executive suite. I tried on surfing and chatting and it was really fun, so when I got back in the Philippines, I persuaded me mom and dad to let me get an account at Philworld ^_~
February 1998
What was this month all about? All I remember is @ school lots of kids got... get this... CHICKENPOX! Yep it was the month of chickenpox. Also, my english teacher asked me to rewrite my essays. ARGH! Also my project in Physics was tough, I need to discuss some topic about physics (what I did was about lasers) and then present it in a comic-style way. It was fun but hard work.
March 1998
I'm still loaded up with school work as usual. And this month was the month of FINAL EXAMS. Brrrr... so I did study-a-rama. Fortunately, I passed all me exams and got fine grades so it was worth it.
April 1998
GRADUATION! Finally, after spending 4 long years of waking up @ 5 am for school, it's finally over! And what's so good about April? Start of summer vacation and my birthday. So this month, I was going to La Salle almost every day to apply for college (I did say its summer vacation but I have to settle college first @_@). My birthday was not so cool, but it's okay though, my friends and family were there anyways. ^_~
May 1998
Still a school vacation. Still chilling out and making some experiments on the net, like -- taking a first shot @ creating a webpage! I have deleted my first webpage cos it's really a shocker and a disaster rolled into one, and it was replaced with a new and improved Groovestation.
June 1998
Start of Uni life! I did apply for DLSU but some things happened and I gotta settle for UPHR. I was doing good in this uni, but unfortunately, I have to drop off three subjects due to conflict, that was Management 1, FCL 1 and PE.
July 1998
More uni. This month, my obsession for Japanese Anime was rekindled by playing and finishing Final Fantasy VII by Squaresoft. I didn't really play much of the PSX until my little brother bought this game. I played it, and voila! Maybe it's because of Cloud Strife and Sephiroth, I don't know. Oh and how can I forget? BEASTIE BOYS! Wahoo!
August 1998
A month of major partying and movies. Yep, my bro threw a huge party @ Cavite, and some of my friends too. It was also the month of movies cos all I did this month was go to cinemas, or watch HBO and rent videotapes from ACA/Videocity!
September 1998
First semester of Uni is about to finish (?) Ah such poor memory. Lemme check me diary first ^_~ ... Yep, our exams were already finished bout this time... I have to prepare for lotsa oral reports for my classes and argh, was I nervous or what? Discussin stuff in front of the class was really not my thing -- since grade school I loathed it. The Beastie Boys also won the Video Vanguard award @ MTV's Music Video Awards... that was way cool... the Neoprint craze with my friends was on, so most of the time we were at those booths posing like crazy ^_^ ...
October 1998
This was a lazy ass month because of the UNI INTRAMURALS! ^_^ When I was in high school, I loved this event but now... maybe that's because only seniors in this uni get to participate (mostly). Agh, so me and my friends have to spend the rest of the school days at the mall or something, watching movies, etc. Our final exams were also finished by this time... and gotta enroll for another semester at this uni. Also... I still am going crazy with PSX games! Bought loads of RPG like Xenogears, Brigandine, Final Fantasy Tactics, Alundra, etc. but never got to play 'em all...
November 1998
Second semester has already commenced. And my obsession for anime is still strong. Bought heaps of Anime mags and FFVII soundtrack. And this is one lonely and unlucky month for me... you guys @ LP knows about that, yeh?
December 1998
Wheeeeee~! Christmas season... that trip to Thailand was really awesome. We got to shop a lot, walk a lot, go scenery viewing a lot... that was really awesome. I didn't enjoy christmas much though because we're apart from the family, and being in Thailand -- they don't celebrate Christmas there because they're Buddhists... Don't worry, I didn't get a souvenir haircut! @_@
Yepperoonie. I spent too much on CDs, books and magazines (not regretting it on this one though ^_^), clothes and shoes. I actually bought the FF7 soundtrack -- jaaaaaaa~! And some Japanese anime magazines which I don't have any idea on how to read... basically cos it was in Japanese writing... quite stupid? Not really. I bought them anyway so I'll have some ideas on how to draw chara expressions, poses and stuff.
I played heaps of PSX games this year, developed major interest in RPGs... I play videogames, but not unlike now... wow, I'm totally hooked.
CDs-a-rama... I'll list down the CDs I got? Well, first off this is not in particular order cos I've got no idea when I bought some of them... just like some spending rush...
I got a 311 CD, I think I got this for me birthday. Like a gift to myself... shesh. Also Hello Nasty of course, wouldn't miss it on its release date... I got Oasis's Be here now, Lost in Space OST (but lost it o_O), Best Dance Mixes, Exit Planet Dust, Lighthouse Family, Usher, Natalie Imbruglia's Left of the Middle, MTV Alternative Nation and Soul'd Out, Mariah C's Butterfly, Max 4, Godzilla OST, City of Angels OST, Armageddon OST, Um... Titanic OST... (don't ask), Mariah Carey Ones... even the Final Fantasy VII Soundtrack... and much others. I've got about 30 or more CDs this year (I know it isn't that much, but for me it is), and I'm planning to surpass that record this 1999.
Movies galore. Almost every week me and my friends hit the cinemas to watch a movie. What movies?
Woohoo, Godzilla, with me little bro and sis ^_~ ... Small Soldiers, Deep Impact, Species 2, Ever After, X-Files the Movie, Dr. Doolittle, Rush Hour, H20 - Halloween After 20 Years, Armageddon, The Net, Jerry Maguire, Seven, Joe's Apartment, and Major Payne (some on rented videos and HBO). God, I know there were heaps of 'em, but I somehow forgot... o_O
Anyways, I'll also share what I got for Christmas 1998. I know, I know it's really none of your business... but hey, youre reading my Free Talk! ^_~

What was on my mind -- 01.01.99
Hey everyone, Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu! Did everyone had a good start to this wonderful year of 1999? I'm sure.
Well first off, I gotta say something about this edition of TNC that I'm writing. Sorry for the lame ass title, but I am so tired, busy from the holiday's trekking and touring, and preparing for the 1999 celebration. Also, I had to attend lots of parties and my nephew's baptismal so I've got no time to sleep and mess things in the house, let alone update a page. Alrightey with that stuff outta the way, let's start with the dissin'.
Actually, I had this thought ages ago when some American company wanted to bring these dolphins in the Philippines to do some Dolphin Shows. Some environmentalists got angry and protested so the government and the owner of the venue where the show will be held will not permit the performance. They emerged victorious.
I was in Thailand's Safari Park, a famous spot for tourists and nature - especially animal - lovers. The place is totally cool and perfect, lots of animals, nice setting, lots of plants and trees and the animals weren't really caged... instead, they are free to roam around the place like it was really a jungle or something. There were animal shows staged in different locations in the park at different times, like every hour. There were sea lions, orangutans, birds, dolphins, and others as well as New Papua and Stunt shows which is by, um, human beings (kinda inappropriate dont ya think?). So anyway, I'm not dissing the performance -- it was excellent especially the bird and the sea lion show -- totally groovy. What I'm dissing is -- what the trainers do to the poor animals.
If you have watched a dolphin (or sea lion, etc.) show, you will notice that the dudes who give commands to the dolphin give food to the poor thing when it follows their orders. Like, they tell the dolphin to jump, after it did, they'll give the dolphin food to eat. The environmentalists are totally against it -- not against giving food -- but by not giving food before the act.
It's like this, before the act, the trainers starve the animals so it'll crave for food (of course). So in order to get food, the poor little animals will have to deal with whatever the trainers ask them to do - like jump and run around and stuff to get on with the show.
My friend said, "Why care about the animals? They're doing (trainers starving the animals for the show) it for your enjoyment anyway..." Well, frankly, I will not enjoy the damn show if I keep on thinking that those lil animals are being starved by people to make money for themselves and abuse them poor creations of God. I'll bet ya think so too. So I hope whenever an animal show comes in to perform in your town, you'll think first before supporting them or turning them down (better!).
Well that's it for this short edition of TNC. Hope it had ya thinking. Have a fun day and Happy New Year everyone.
A new weird section in this site will be from the visitors of groovestation... (damn that reminds me, I gotta redo some graphics on this page)
