The Great White has a stout, torpedo shaped body, with two dorsal fins, long, narrow pectoral fins, and a cresent shaped caudal fin, conical snout, and black eyes. The serrated teeth are razor sharp. Unlike those of it's relatives, it's teeth on both upper and lower jaws are symmetrical. The upper body varies in colour from slate brown to blue gray, while the lower body is white or cream
Reproduction: Unborn pups consume unfertilized eggs released by the mother. There are seven to nine pups in a litter
This species is now protected in S. Africa, Maldives, Nambia, Israel, and several states of the United States and Australia.
