Chocolate Pound Cake

1 cup butter, softened 3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup shortening 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 cups sugar 1/4 tsp salt
5 eggs 1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup cocoa 1 cup milk
Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat at high speed of an electric mixer for 2 minutes or until fluffy.

Combine cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add vanilla to milk; add milk mixture alternately with flour mixture to butter mixture. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan; bake at 325º for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
