Mama's Tea Cakes

1 cup butter 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups sugar 1 tsp grated nutmeg
2 eggs 1/4 cup milk
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp vanilla
3 tsp baking powder
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to sugar/butter mixture. Add vanilla. Roll dough to 1/4 or 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into any desired shape. Place on buttered or greased cookie sheet. Bake until lightly brown at 350º for about 12 to 15 minutes.
