SST TC Multiplayer Patch for the Atomic version
SST_TC_Multiplayer_Patch_Atomic.zip
Moloch published this in his forum.
This is, what he says about it:
[quote] This is an old file dating back to 2000 by Randall J. Currie. It's fairly important yet I don't think it's available anywhere. Found it few days back. May be useful to people who want to try multiplayer as it gives you cooperative gameplay. Few fixes as well. You're on your own though - I have not really tried it out beyond the scope "it works". User-levels for the Demo of the Starship-Troopers-TC for Duke Nukem 3D (v. 1.3)
Troopers
by Chris Ruppert (Diehard52@hotmail.com).
This is my favorite map!
It was not too hard and not too easy. I had to save very often and was not allowed to waste neither my ammo nor my time (the beasts are quick!). It gave me maybe one and a half hour of non-stop playing-fun. But i'm not really shure about the time - wasn't able to look at the clock - i had enough to do with saving my live ;). After finding the exit (run as fast as you can to the ship!), i had also some fun by walking around and enjoying the beautiful designed scenery.

Bugrush 2
by Strife
single player: bugrush.map
multi player: bugrushm.map

You have to defend a fort in the night (nice atmosphere) against 139 warrior bugs.
It is extremely hard. This is the strategy-guide, posted by Strife in the SST-TC-Forum:
"This is what you do. Use the Mortitia for long range cause it can hit far, use the rotary for close range. When you try and hit bugs far away with a rotary you will waste too much ammo. Ive beaten the level with 98 bullets left. Its really easy."
Even if you have no red bull in your veins, it will give you some massaker-fun in god-mode. (Well, i know: MI hates me! ;))
Mountain
by Mongo (nickimaja@get2net.dk).
You have to fight your way through a labyrintic mountain/gorge scenery.
It's very hard. I had to cheat my way through at the first time. But at the next day i was able to play it completely trough without cheating. It will give every MI-Trooper a hard nut to crack.
Are you hard enough?

Fort
by Mongo (nickimaja@get2net.dk).
Original level by Chris Allcock (steve.allcock4@virgin.net). It's his work. Mongo just modified it a little to fit it to the theme.
You have to defend a fort against some hoppers and masses of warriors. The design is most realistic and really near to the movie. I liked especially the atmospheric gliding grey clouds on the sky.
Kenny 2
by Kenny McCormick (southpark30@hotmail.com).
In this map you have to fight your way through several corridors, filled with bugs.
If you know the older version, you will be surprised, how much better it is now: It has new wall textures, a new sky and a nuke-button. (I think it is the first SST-map with a nuke-button). The placement of enemies and weapons was also improved. I had fun with it. Keep on the work, Kenny!
It is still a work-in-progress-project. The author asked me something, maybe some of you map-makers can help him:
"[...] hey here is another version of my map..tell me what ya think... and if you can tell me how I made the rising floor after the second room [...]"
Whiskey
by Chris Ruppert (Diehard52@hotmail.com).
Description by Chris Ruppert:
"Its kinda like the whiskey outpost in the movie."
A P133 and 32Mb RAM is the absolute minimum to run this map, recommended is a more powerful computer.
I, Funduke, wasn't able to play it with my P100, 16 MB RAM. After entering the map and collecting some items, the game crashed, when the first few bugs attacked me.
scottish_macbeth (loki@proweb.co.uk) was so friendly, to send me the review below and this screen shot.
Thank you!
Review by scottish_macbeth (loki@proweb.co.uk):
"I just played on the whiskey map this morning. It ran alright on my computer *P2 300, 64meg RAM* until I got chased by a LOT of Bugs :o)
The layout is good, the design is superb. But I found a really simple way to beat the map. I've only played it once, but now i'll be unbeatable on it.
To beat all the bugs, you need to get them all to chase you, and then you need to run behind the Outpost. But you MUST run around from the right. The bugs will follow you. You keep going behind the Outpost until you reach a bit where the land is raised up from you. Jump up there and your safe as the Bugs can't follow. Once up there you just turn round and shoot them at will. When you run out of ammo you go back into the Outpost, stock up on ammo, come back out and carry on.
In 5 minutes I had wiped out every bug on the map. Unfortunately there is no way for the map to end properly so I had to quit the game once I had won."

Stranded
by Peter [Maniac.UK] Williams (maniacuk@talk21.com).
This map is one of the better ones.
You will have to fight your way from one ship to another through a station, that is filled with a lot of bugs. IT'S HARD!
This is the description of the author:
"You have crash landed on a supposedly dormant bug planet, after being shot down by plasma blasts. Before you crashed you were inspecting the planet for any signs of bugs, since contact with the settlers on the planet had been lost. You now need to determine the strength of the bug force on the planet and then find any means possible of escape and report to base. Be careful it could be dangerous out there Trooper."
Search and destroy
by Sean Roy (seanroy@hotmail.com,
http://www.angelfire.com/scifi/SST/).
In this nice little map you have to fight your way through a outpost, occupied by the bugs. It's fun!
This is Sean Roys Story:
"You are Lieutenant John Rico, your mission is to infiltrate and destroy the bug infestation at the radar station on Planet P. Its all small base, but we need that radar station clear so we can send tech's down to operate it! Eliminate all bugs and exit base, a retrieval ship will pick you up afterwards."
BUG CITY
by Matt Wilson (matt_wilson_nz@hotmail.com).
I have waited a long time for the next SST-Demo-user-map. I thought, there will never again a SST-Demo-user-map pop up. But i was wrong! Here is a nice new kill-every-yellow-black-strifed-bastard-map by Matt Wilson. He sent it in at the 27/5/2000. Many thanks, Matt! I played it a few minutes ago, and now i'm the happiest man of the world again!
User-levels for the full version of the Starship-Troopers-TC for Duke Nukem 3D (v. 1.3/1.4/1.5)
Bugrush 3
by Strife (killer91@hotmail.com).
You are starting in a outpost, collect some weapons, ad have then try to pass a plasma-bug, and a lot of warriors to gain access to a nuke-button and then quit the level.
1. There where too many warriors! My computer (Pentiun, 100 Mhz, 16 MB) wasn't able to display them and react to my key commands at the same time. And so the game crashed!
You should play it only with a real fast computer!
2. It was a little short. Less warriors and a hugher, more labyrinthic design. would have been more fun!
Fallen
by Keith [ALIENATED] Scolaro (koolboarder@hotmail.com).
This map is action from the first second on!
I was in the moment, i entered the map, attacked by two warriors, killed them, collected some weapons, and the action continued...
I encountered every kind of bug, featured by the TC (even the brain bug!). The landscape was very well designed: Don't fall down these huge cliffs! You need a fast computer for optimal playing fun.
The Klendathu Battle (Atomic only!)
by Sean Roy (seanroy@hotmail.com).
It is a fight in the night. The night is dark-blue, exactly like the Klendathu-scene in the movie. That gives it a cool atmosphere.
Unfortunately is the map very short (though it's fun!).
There are a lot of fellow troopers with you. Be careful! Don't stay too long between them and the bugs, otherwise, their bullets will kill you!
I recommend, that you handle them like enemies during the battle!

The Siege
by REX (Daniel Millspaugh) (d_millspaugh@hotmail.com).
Find your way through a very difficult and intelligent designed level (it needs only a little more shading: it's hard to find out, if there is a wall or a tunnel in the wall in front of you!).
I had a lot of fun with it.
The helper bots are very intelligent placed in the level by the author: sometimes, when you are attacked by some bugs, you can hide yourself, and wait, till the helper bots did their work; you will later only have to give one or two shots to your enemies, to make them die!
--- Quote from REX's personal e-mail to me:
[...] Oh and if you have less than a P2, you might want to go into build and erase some enemies at the end.
Have fun! Oh and if a ladded doesn't work, back up a little and continue climbing. I haven't perfected them yet. :)

Tunnel
by Keith [ALIENATED] Scolaro (koolboarder@hotmail.com).
O.K., it's time for some hardcore action!
You have to walk (better: run!) through a labyrinthic tunnel system. It is relatively big and very complex. And most important: It's fun! There is behind every corner one or two warriors waiting for you. Don't waste your ammo! Save very often!
Do you remember the game *Descent*? It is nearly the same feeling: Running through tunnels and hearing good music!

Donut-grenade for SST-TC
Donut-grenade for Duke Nukem 3D (v.1.3/1.4/1.5) without SST-TC
by Funduke (funduke@hotmail.com).
This patch replaces the grenade of either the SST-TC or the standard Duke Nukem 3D Game with a donut.
The *donut* was (*is* ???!!! :)) a running-gag in the SST-forum. The first guy, who came up with it, was, as far, as i know, Predator (teamrainbow@hotmail.com).
stormed.zip
Keith [ALIENATED] Scolaro (koolboarder@hotmail.com).
WARNING: THIS LEVEL MIGHT CRASH YOUR COMPUTER!!!
The author says in his readme file that this map is playable without the Plutonium PAK. But when i tried to play it with v. 1.3d of Duke 3D (of course with SST-TC installed) the level caused the game to crash several times and also the computer crashed more than one time. Nevertheless i didn't eperienced any problem when i tried to launch it with the Atomic edition and SST-TC installed.
Nevertheless:
Be warned!
Use this map at your own risc!

I haven't completed the map without cheating.
So just one playability tip: When you jump at the beginning out of the airplane or whatever it is, you have to wait till the long falling-scream of Duke ends and then immediately activate the Jet-pak. This will prevent you from dying when you encounter the surface of the planet ;)

How to beat the first level of SST,
posted by Sean Roy (seanroy@hotmail.com, Starship Troopers Fan Page) at 06-26-2000 05:20 PM in the SST-TC-Forum:
ok.. You crawl through the vent, make a right and go into the room with all the tables. Go across the hall into the security room on the opposite side. You should see a TV monitor, press the button on the left. Go back into the vent, go to where the red light is emitting from. Go straight until you reach a vent, and fall down infront of it. Crawl down the shaft and blow away the fan. Go left and go through the glass sliding door. Go up the elevator. Go straight down the hall, make a left, and go to the security room.Press the two right buttons, then look left and shoot the other one on the wall. Go to the elevator out in the hallway on the immediate left, use it. Go in the other elevator.Go straight to the next door, down the tunnel, then go up the small elevator into the room, then hit the switch. Jump out the window and run into the opening door. Run down the hallway, crawl in the vent, you should see a fan after awhile, then the vent should explode. fall down the hole and run around the corner.Make a right and go into the security room. Hit the only switch. Run out the hallway, and dive into the half-open elevator. Soon you will be in a cargo loading station, you have to shoot a switch behind some obstacles, then, go through the opening door. Its pretty obvious from there.

Greetings
Funduke
